Other 5 x Gobbapalooza (170)** 6 x Grinkrak’s Looncourt (0)* 6 x Sneaky Snufflers (140)** 1 x Marshcrawla Sloggoth (170)*
Lodivicus: Just weeks off his 5th place finish at Wappler Harvest, Tristan returns with a slight modification to the list he played there. Does his list follow the current Jaws of Mork core trend? Yes, yes it does! To review (yet again), the currently trending core includes Skragrott, a Squigboss, a Madcap Shaman, Boingrot Bounderz, Squig Herd, Gobbapalooza and the Bad Moon Loonshrine. Though the same warscrolls appear again, the quantity of the battleline units varies more than most. So how does Tristan’s version compare to what we’ve been seeing?
Just like last time, his Madcap Shaman surrenders the more popular Moonface Mommet/Hoarfrost combo in favor of Moonface Mommet/Merciless Blizzard. He also doesn’t go down the popular path of adding a second Andtorian Locus (and associated battalion) in favor of adding Grinkrak (and double Battle Regiment) as he did at the previous event.
But the one big change from his previous list comes in the battleline units. In the previous event, Tristan ran two Squig Herd units (one single reinforced and one double reinforced). This time he chooses to drop the single reinforced unit of Squig Herd in favor of adding a single reinforced unit of Boingrot Bounderz. This brings his list closer to that of the core lists we’ve been seeing over the last while, while retaining his support unit choices.
Congratulations to Tristan on going undefeated in the event and his 2nd place finish. Small tweaks can have big payoffs!

Army Faction: Ossiarch Bonereapers – Subfaction: Null Myriad – Grand Strategy: Spellcasting Savant – Triumph: Inspired
LEADERS Katakros (500)* Mortisan Boneshaper (140)* – Artefacts of Power: Artisan’s Key – Spells: Hoarfrost Mortisan Soulmason (160)* – General – Command Traits: Dark Acolyte – Spells: Levitate
Roland Rivera: To the surprise of no one, Null Myriad has performed very well in a spellcasting-centric season, as its potential 2+ spell ignore makes it very good at fending off money spells from its opponents. This combines with OBR’s combat prowess to make for a potent army indeed.
As with all OBR lists, the thing that makes this all tick is the Heroes. Katakros is perhaps the best support Hero in all of Age of Sigmar, and he features prominently here as a source of buffs and healing/model recovery. A Boneshaper with the Artisan’s Key gives the list even more healing, as well as a potential home run offensive buff in Hoarfrost. The Soulmason is great at buffing Mortek Guard, and can force critical spells through with the Dark Acolyte command trait.
Speaking of Mortek Guard, while they aren’t quite the defensive studs they have been in the past, they pack quite the punch these days, especially with the plethora of buffs this list has available for them. They can get +1 to hit and +1 to save from Katakros, +1 to wound from the Soulmason’s Soul-Guide spell, and +1 Rend from the Bludgeon command ability. That kind of buffing will take their offense from “meh” to “wow” very quickly. The Harvester can take some of the risk out of relying so heavily on 1-Wound infantry models with a 4+ save by offering even more healing on top of what the Boneshaper and Katakros provide.
Beyond that, the list features ubiquitous choices in Kavalos Deathriders for utility and Immortis Guard to form the solid center the army needs to impose its will on the midboard. While this list has a couple of interesting choices that you don’t always see out of OBR, it has paid careful attention to its fundamentals, and is thus a strong choice.

LEADERS Firebelly (120)* – Spells: Billowing Ash Frostlord on Stonehorn (460)* – Artefacts of Power: Arcane Tome – Mount Traits: Rockmane Elder Slaughtermaster (140)* – General – Command Traits: Gastromancer – Spells: Hoarfrost
Roland Rivera: It’s been a while since we saw a mostly Gutbuster-centric Ogor list like this one do well (let alone take 1st), which I think speaks well of the state of the current metagame. Good and honest Warhammer is on the comeback!
As implied above, this list is very straightforward. You have lots of blocks of hard-hitting units, and your goal is to crash them into your opponent and mess them up. Gluttons are your high-volume attackers, Ironguts are your higher-Rend can openers (with the option for a double fight if you get them into the right target), and the Frostlord on Stonehorn is the durable anchor in the middle that can also sneak behind enemy lines with its Monstrous Rampage. Between the mortal wounds on the charge (with every unit in this list averaging 3.5 or so) and their combat profiles, they will put a hole in whatever is unfortunate enough to be charged by them. It is imperative that you are the aggressor, however, as the only unit that can take a punch in this whole list is the Frostlord.
These melee beaters are supported by a couple of casters (including the Frostlord, which has the Arcane Tome), which can spit out buffs or debuffs as needed, and an Ironblaster, which can be used to clear out screens or as a supplementary combatant if it gets the Blubbergrub Stench spell cast on it. A unit of Gnoblars rounds things out as a screen/objective grabber. It will typically be guarding the Ironblaster as it advances into range for its Hail Shot (by far its most effective mode of shooting), but it can also guard one of the Ogor units in a pinch.
Overall, I am thrilled to see that this sort of list is still good enough to take down tournaments, and recommend taking it out for a spin, as it’s a ton of fun.

Joshua Bennett: Hello readers welcome back to another top showing of our favorite murder ladies. Today we are looking at Dale Johnson’s list and we love to see the non-Morathi witch elves spam.
This list consists of two of their most reliable casters in the acolytes battalion which allows them the chance of getting the ever needed primal dice. This helps them get blizzard and mindrazor off to make the the witch elves even more deadly.
Two of the smaller units of witches are armed with the bucklers to make them better for screening. They will stick around a little longer while you prepare the 20 block to take on whatever is in your way. Teamed up with the Gladiatrix and the Hagg Nar temple, your witches can hit and wound on two’s with Mindrazor, can be rend two, and damage two. At three attacks each you’re looking at a lot of damage into anything.
The avatars are going to run around the board doing some really cool monsters action. These guys are also totems, issuing commands 18 inches out. While they deal a lot of damage they also have a decent save with a high wound count that allows them to stick around a while.
The last thing that makes this list a problem for most lists in a GT setting, is that it scores five battle tactics and a grand strategy consistently that are almost impossible to stop. Meaning that you have to score everything and also get the objectives or you will find yourself falling behind very quickly. It’s great to see DOK in a good standing again. maybe this is a foreshadowing of what is to come in the future?

Allegiance: Beasts of Chaos – Greatfray: Darkwalkers – Grand Strategy: Protect the Herdstone – Triumphs: Bloodthirsty
Leaders Doombull (180)* – General – Command Trait: Bestial Cunning – Artefact: Brayblast Trumpet Great Bray-Shaman (100)* – Lore of Primal Frost: Merciless Blizzard Be’Lakor, the Dark Master (340)* – Allies
Battleline 10 x Ungors (80)* – Mauls & Half-Shields 10 x Ungors (80)* – Mauls & Half-Shields 20 x Ungor Raiders (260) * – Reinforced x 1 10 x Ungor Raiders (130) * 9 x Bullgors (630)* – Axes & Bullshields – Reinforced x 2
Beasts of Chaos have settled into a pretty nice groove overall these days – thankfully far from the janky, meta-terrors they used to be – but still perfectly capable of competing.
The core around which most of their strongest lists are built is a brick of Bullgors – unsurprising for anyone who’s played/against them – because of their charge mortals and mad damage spike potential. In a big brick, they’re a super dense wound total too, meaning they’re difficult to commit to and offer lots of rallying potential.
Supporting them are a mixture of Ungors and Raiders for sneaky ranged chip damage and sniping potential and the usual core heroes.
But then Be’Lakor enters chat – ready to shut down the biggest threat to the Bullgors and allowing way more insurance across the double (or in the event of a failed charge), helping the stampeding hammer to survive and carry on their rampage.
Also noteworthy is the chaos gargant, who’s a cheap, fast monster who once engaged can help the Ungor hit above their weight due to the Garg’s -1 to save aura. Losing only to Meatfist, who for sure have the distributed hammers to deal with the Bullgors, this Darkwalkers list successfully dealt with some nasty threats, especially Khorne, for a well deserved 4-1.

Carl Stokes: Another tournament, another glorious victory for the Dawi! Victor’s list sticks to the tried and true axiom of “if it moves, we can shoot it to death” and boy howdy does it work. Not much in the game can stand up to a juiced volley from 15 thunderers and with a 3+ save and rallying on a 4+ from the articyle “Honor is Everything”, it’s shockingly hard to clear out the unit.
When the new book was released, KO players immediately noticed the incredible advantage of having an unstoppable (and free) Soulscream bridge. Even after the most recent nerf, the ability for KO to sling 15 thunderers and/or an ironclad around the battlefield far outweighs the downside of not being able to make use of commands that turn. Plus, the bridge comes with a khemist, whose buff is not a command ability, and can further increase the output (and survivability) of thunderers around him.
The interesting twist in this list is the use of Mhornar rather than Urbaz. Using Mhornar makes it more challenging for opponents to make use of their precious command abilities at the cost of limiting you to one artycle. In a meta where OBR and seraphon are rampant, this provides a little extra utility to the matchup and can help overcome the massive problem of the Aura of Sterility favored by OBR.
The use of prudency chutes over the last word on the ironclad is also a bit of personal flair that can help KO overcome the loss of an ironclad. It’s not a perfect solution, though, since the way disembarking works is that embarked models must be placed within 3” of the boat BEFORE the boat is removed from play. You can’t place models in the cavity left by the boat’s demise. If you wrap the boat in close combat and kill it, everything inside it will die whether or not you have prudency chutes. But in a high shooting meta, preventing the 1/6 chance of losing key characters to an ironclad crash can be vital.
The tactical Gunhauler is also an addition I think more and more KO players will begin to adopt. The speed and utility of an unbracketable 3+ save chariot-esque model that’s unbelievably quick and packs a wizard-killing amount of shooting and bombs cannot be understated in a world where Andtorian Loci are key in many matchups. Victor clearly leaned into this aspect, taking Slaughter of Sorcery as his grand strategy.
All-in-all, the new KO book continues to show its strength, even after attempts at taking it down a few notches. The ease of the book battle tactics combined with the skewed gameplay of massive shooting backed up by shocking mobility is something that armies will have to be prepared to deal with at top tables and expect to see at most major tournaments. Victor has taken a classic KO archetype and made some incredibly well-informed alterations to maximize its power for the current meta which paid off in a big way with this first place finish. Congrats!

LEADERS Mortisan Boneshaper (140)* – General – Command Traits: Aura of Sterility – Artefacts of Power: Artisan’s Key – Spells: Hoarfrost Mortisan Soulreaper (110)* – Spells: Merciless Blizzard Arkhan the Black (380)** Liege-Kavalos (180)**
Jake Cachey Muhr: The list is a response to the Immortis Guard recursion nerf – where previously taking a Boneshaper, Arkhan, and Katakros would allow for a potential 20 wound recursion per hero phase. With this being no-longer possible, I’ve opted to drop Katakros and the Immortis block for a Harvester, 30x Mortek Guard, and a Soulreaper (my Blizzard Wizard). This creates a pretty durable and scary area my opponent doesn’t want to get stuck into because first – mortek guard can slap pretty good, and also Blizzard Wizard is hanging around them typically.
On top of this I’m designed to capitalize on multiple battle tactics throughout the game. The new block, as mentioned above, can become a problem if stuck in combat for my opponent – but also opens up the tactic for Killing an Enemy with a spell (Blizzard/Pendelum/Etc), Finishing a unit with a Harvester (the Tithe Demands), and can stick me in combat with multiple units for Bait and Trap if needed. I can consistently use my more mobile units (Arkhan, Chargers, Archai) to set up for movement tactics from this GHB. And I’m consistently landing Trample the Defiant. Overall it’s an easy list to consistently land 5/5 tactics.
Without Katakros you lose a bit of your punch and bulk (no +1/+1 hit/Save) so you are forced to play a bit smarter than previously. Depending on opponent you cannot afford to over extend your auras, and Mystic Sheild needs to be getting placed on the right model every turn.
Positioning your harvester is also Key – you never want to be in a position where it can get blasted by a cheeky pile in. Remember that while it’s a good utility model – it also can bop things pretty hard (and has a shooting attack) so capitalize on it’s power when things line up correctly.
Arkhan does Arkhan things – your Boneshaper should always be close enough to heal your Mortek or whatever is going to be threatened – and your Soulreaper is an aggro model that sticks behind a screen at all times preparing for Blizzard.
These models are also extending your null myriad range – which gives a bit more flexibility if needed on multi-objective maps. You should never be in a position that you’re not rolling a 2+ spell ignore with this list.

Joshua Bennett: With this GHB and new book we start out with, it has come to be the standard start of any BOC list with the double Great Bray Shaman and a Tzanngor Shaman. With one Great Bray bonded with the incarnate. The trick here is doing your rituals kills your great bray, allowing the incarnate to go wild and do incarnate things.
Also what we see here is three low casting endless spells that feed the Incanate when needed, tag along the Tanngor shaman with the high mobility and the once per game of +3 to cast, and that with primal dice it allows blizzard to be pretty reliable cast.
The gors give you a very cheap and dependable screen unit to buy you they time and space for the incarnate to do his thing. The ungors give that off the board threat to backline heroes, causing your opponent to be very careful on how they deploy. One mistake can cost them some very important support early game.
While the Incarnate is in your face pinning your army, it’s also causing your wizards to have the negative one to cast, then add the Cygor in the mix where you take mortals when you successfully your spells, a really great combo for this current meta state of wizards.
All in all, with the screens you bring in the list plus the ones you summon with the artefact, this list has the power to tie you long enough for the incarnate to do its job. It is very well built and as you can see from the results very well played.
Leaders Glutos Orscollion, Lord of Gluttony (480)* – Lore of the Magnificent: Born of Damnation Lord of Pain (140)* Contorted Epitome (210)* – General – Command Trait: Strength of Goodhood – Artefact: The Crown of Dark Secrets – Universal Spell Lore: Flaming Weapon

Joshua Bennett: This list takes a little different take on the normal pretenders list we see. Just a refresher or for a new reader prenders allow you to aquire a lot of command points while also issusing the same command from your chosen general to three different units each phase.
This list takes mostly the normal approach to the pretenders list. Stacked with blissbarb archers that have a range of 18 inches that can run and shoot, putting the threat at 30 inches. Tagged along with blissbarb seekers, it puts them at rend two. That volume of shots topped with the rend makes this a deadly combination.
The contorted is pretty much a staple in every pretenders list. The strength of the godhood command trait added with a flaming weapon makes her a beat stick for every army to fear. Gloutus is the one we dont normally see, but I can understand the draw to put this almost unkillable hero in any list. With a 3+ save and a 5+ ward that heals up to six wounds after he fights, it is a problem for any army to deal with.
The endless spell shuts off all commands and stops the All out Defence that naturally comes during the round of shooting. This is a great list and was played well to bring it up to the top of the list.

Danny Wadeson: Ok, as a Soulblight player myself it’s easy to get excited rather than salty about the faction doing well. But, I probably owe it to everyone to start upping the sodium content a little at this point.
Because, turns out Soulblight are quite good at the moment y’all. Andrew here has opted for the ‘Legion of Night shenanigans’ list archetype, with Big Ol’ Bone Daddy himself, a shit load of zombies for him to constantly bring back, and some msu Fell Bats who are cheap and fast.
There’s also some Myrmourn Banshees for anti-spell tech, which is an idea I had during the last GHB – at which point I bought some and shelved the army until recently – but still, always been surprised they’ve haven’t cropped up more. So thank you to Andrew for vindicating me!

The Top Three AoS Lists
Army Faction: Ossiarch Bonereapers – Subfaction: Mortis Praetorians – Grand Strategy: Spellcasting Savant – Triumph: Inspired
LEADERS Arkhan the Black (380) Katakros (460) Mortisan Boneshaper (140) – General – Command Traits: Dark Acolyte – Artefacts of Power: Artisan’s Key – Spells: Drain Vitality
Walter Brock: With the new season Ossiarch Bonereapers have started out of the gate running. This list uses Mortis Praetorians as the sub faction of choice, which allows a unit to counter charge after an enemy unit finishes a charge within 12”. This has a lot of potential things it can do. From stopping other units from charging, to taking objectives from the opponent when otherwise the objectives would have been lost. For mortis Praetorians the sky’s the limit when it comes to the crazy things it can do.
Spell casting savant means the Boneshaper needs to survive until the end of the game to score the grand strat. Because of the Immortis Guard can take hit for it. That means the opponent will need to chew through a lot of tanky models just to stop the grand strat.
Arkhan and Katakros are a two man wonder show. Each being able to heal three different units wholly within 24. Combine that with the Shapers Key and you could potentially return 4 Immortis guard each of your command phases, not to mention all the other things that can be healed too. Katakros has his very powerful Aura of +1 save and +1 hit. Arkhan is a spell casting master at +2 to cast and deny with three casts and unbinds. While also knowing all the lore spells. I could go on and on about what these two do, but we might actually be here all day
Dark acolyte gives the shaper access to an easy battle tactic with a powerful spell of the users choice. On top of it having a very potent healing ability.
Going into the units. Death riders grant access to a solid battle tactic while being able to play multiple roles in a list from screens to taking objectives or even trying to snipe out small heros with there impact hits. These add a lot of options and flexibility to an OBR gameplan.
Immortis Guard and are the Anvil and the hammer. They are very hard to take out. They can’t be ignored most of the time and they demand your attention. Being a 2+ save with katakros’s command ability and then you can stack defensive spells like mystic shield and reinforce construct makes them very difficult to take down. Now add all the healing abilities and it adds up to what feels like an immovable object. They also come with a once per game fight again so they can smack things around incredibly hard.
Stalkers are a unit with multiple choices. They can move fast with their command ability. They can become as tanky as Immortis guard in combat. They can even go full damage mode and take out large threats. They do a good job at rounding out the list and add another tool to the OBR arsonal. Well done to this player

It’s dooble-forg, with a Trog – just like the ‘good’ ‘old’ days. In fairness, I’ve always been bullish on the Trog as a utility piece – even when it’s not being used as a kamikaze spell portal, it has an excellent warscroll spell (halving charges is not to be underestimated), a clutch -1 to hit aura (one of the strongest defensive effects in the game), built-in healing, some modest spike damage potential and the Terror ability – what’s not to love?
We also see double Chargers here, which I’m also a big fan of – point for point they’re the best output in Starborne, and with Speed of Huanchi can be an absolute rocket. I’m guessing the allied Drakespawn are essentially a cheap and equally fast screen for them with that sweet 3+ save, but either way they won’t be long for this world…
With 5 wins, over what looks on the surface to be about the toughest variety of opponents going – such as the shifty BoC, anti-magic Khorne, swarming Gitz, and TWO SBGL – it’s clear that this list and Stark’s generalship truly adhere to The Great Plan!

OTHER 20 x Ungor Raiders (260)* 10 x Ungor Raiders (130)* CORE BATTALIONS: *Warlord
TOTAL POINTS: (2000/2000)
Roland Rivera: This Beasts of Chaos list, piloted by Worlds Team USA member Jiwan Noah Singh, is trying to do one thing: deliver a giant blob of Bullgors to the spot where they can do the most damage. To that effect, everything in this list is geared around getting them there. The Doombull General has the Bestial Cunning command trait to set up a full deepstrike within 7″, the Bray-Shaman has Hoarfrost to counteract their base 4+ to hit, the Chaos Gargant projects an aura of -1 save, and the Ungor Raiders provide volume shooting to clear screens and expose juicy targets. It also has a potent spell in Geminids of Uhl-Gysh to soften up the target by stripping them of the ability to use commands. The Bulls themselves straddle the line between offense and defense by wielding Axes & Shields – the difference in offense is not large, and a 4+ save can give them enough staying power to survive a counter-attack and crush a second target.
Speaking of survival, the list also has a potent disruption piece in Be’lakor, which can potentially neuter an enemy hammer long enough for your Bullgors to crush it, or prevent reprisals against the Bullgors once they have delivered their payload. It also has access to some emergency bodies via the Brayblast Trumpet, which can be used to summon another unit of Ungor Raiders for more shooting, or a unit of Gors to impose strikes-last in some matchups. Last but not least, a couple of Ungor units serve as cheap objective grabbers and screens for your Heroes or the Bullgors. All in all, this is a highly technical list that walks on a razor’s edge, but in the hands of a skilled pilot (as it was here), it can be devastatingly effective.

Kieron: So new GHB; new list building in this Tzeentch offering from Joe Krier with tonnes to unpack. Let’s start with what looks familiar. The Grand Strategy is the same, Master of Destiny, because there is absolutely no reason to take anything different, especially with Kairos returning a Destiny Dice once per turn and The Eternal Shroud returning them on a 5+ whenever they are used. Most Tzeentch lists tend to lean towards the sub-factions Guild of Summoners or Hosts Arcanum, with Hosts Arcanum being Joe’s choice here for an auto-unbind battle rounds 1, 3 and 5. Merciless Blizzard on a ridiculously high amount (but without a Primal Super-cast) – just unbind it. Bunch of chaff about to be buffed to the moon with Hoarfrost – Tzeentch says no.
When we look at the characters, Kairos is a staple of many lists and does work (just not in combat – hard to hit something if you can only see into the past or the future!). Magister on foot gets the benefit from not being able to be shot when close enough to another unit and can debuff a unit/turn into a spawn from an extended range with Arcane Sacrifice. Fluxmaster carries the Shroud and also is a good choice for Hoarfrost as they have the once per game re-roll with +3 to the cast and it is unlikely to be in range turn 1 of its warscroll spell for extra Fate Points for summoning (although see comments on Endless Spells below). Gaunt Summoner on foot is a great, flexible piece and with its innate +1 to cast hopefully buffed by Kairos to +2 it makes Merciless Blizzard more likely to go off, without having to sacrifice any of the spells you are taking the summoner with. Then it gets a bit funky!
Ephilim the Unknowable is a very appropriately named character as many of you are wondering who he is! He is an Underworlds one-cast wizard who has an entourage of 4 little freaky dudes – his Pandaemonium – that he can sacrifice for +2 to cast for a phase and then bring back some of a subsequent hero phase instead of casting. This little package costs 190 points, which is a lot, with a Curseling being only 10 points more and offering more immediate utility with re-rolling of unbinds. The only reason you would take him is because of his spell and the way it combines with other spells. While Lumineth have a teleport spell, Seraphon have a teleport heroic action and even Tzeentchian sorcerers in Slaves to Darkness have a pseudo-teleport, Disciples of Tzeentch don’t have one that completes in the same hero phase…until now. Ephilim allows a Tzeentch unit to be teleported 9″ away from the enemy, allowing Kairos to operate at maximum efficiency or putting the Gaunt Summoner in striking position for Merciless Blizzard. There are one or two restrictions though…seven to be precise:
Casts on an 8
Teleporting unit must be wholly within 18″
And visible to Ephilim
And within 6″ of an objective
And more than 3″ away from an enemy
And set up 9″ or more away
And be able to be placed within 6″ of an objective
It’s restriction 7 that really bites but the potential tactical advantage if it goes off is pretty huge. If you want to get hold of Ephilim and his Pandaemonium, time to get your converting skills on as I can’t find him anywhere!
That’s the characters covered: now onto the units. Joe has gone for three units of Kairics, cheap battleline that can add a couple of spells in for Fate Point generation and, if they pool their spells into one Kairic unit, can get up to rend -3 shooting. Still only 10 shots, but its something. They can also do chip damage on enemy wizards who cast within 18″, causing a mortal wound on a 4+ and maybe setting up the ‘kill with magic’ battle tactic. Even more chaff like are the Ungor Raiders with their pre-game move getting board control and maybe setting up space for Ephilim to do his thing. The last units are 6 Furies, who haven’t seen that much of an outing since the heady days of Legion of the First Prince and the least interactive army in history! They are fast, allowing Surround and Destroy to be an easy turn 1 tactic and have a neat warscroll ability that allows them to run away instead of fighting. They probably won’t last long, but long enough for the casters to get within 18″ and then annihilate whatever was being roadblocked. It’s a similar principle to the Krondspine – just slow down the enemy while scoring points.
Finally, the Endless Spells. Burning Sigil is a great spell to be able to set up T1 with their Arcane Armies rule that can potentially get a spawn created in your opponent’s lines. It is unlikely to do much damage, but it slows everything else down. Combine with the Magister’s spell that can do the same and the Ungors and the Furies, it’s going to take a while to get to the juicy stuff in this Tzeentch list. The next one is Umbral Spellportal which some feel is more of a luxury pick at 80 points, especially as the range at which the portal can be used has come down. Lots of good spells to potentially go through this though in the early game, with Kairos’ warscroll spell a great choice to snipe a key character, the Fluxmaster to build up some summoning or, potentially, the next Endless Spell (although damage would be delayed a turn.) The final Endless Spell is Aethervoid Pendulum, which can carve through units for D6 mortal wounds in its 8″ movement. Tzeentch really don’t like being rushed by multiple units as single-target damage is where they excel, so this spell helps cover up that weakness for a cheap 40 points.
No discussion of a Tzeentch book is complete without at least a passing reference to Disciples of Tzeentch’s superpower – Grand Strategy and Battle Tactics. As Joe showed, going over 20 points for every battle apart from his one loss, Tzeentch are good at scoring. The Grand Strategy is in the bag and then there are at least 7 Battle Tactics that are straightforward to complete (book tactics and GHB), with a couple others that are doable, if more risky, for example casting 3 with Mass Conjuration. However, even here, keep Kairos out of range of unbinds, spank 6 Destiny Dice and pick easy spells, it’s a battle tactic that the Tzeentch player is in control of.
Overall, a Tzeentch list that wants to keep you at arms length, until it doesn’t, and then smashes you into little bits with its mortal wound output. Great performance from Joe, also managing to dodge Khorne and any sneaky Null Myriad players on his path to victory!
