Roland Rivera: It’s been a while since we saw a mostly Gutbuster-centric Ogor list like this one do well (let alone take 1st), which I think speaks well of the state of the current metagame.  Good and honest Warhammer is on the comeback!

As implied above, this list is very straightforward.  You have lots of blocks of hard-hitting units, and your goal is to crash them into your opponent and mess them up.  Gluttons are your high-volume attackers, Ironguts are your higher-Rend can openers (with the option for a double fight if you get them into the right target), and the Frostlord on Stonehorn is the durable anchor in the middle that can also sneak behind enemy lines with its Monstrous Rampage.  Between the mortal wounds on the charge (with every unit in this list averaging 3.5 or so) and their combat profiles, they will put a hole in whatever is unfortunate enough to be charged by them.  It is imperative that you are the aggressor, however, as the only unit that can take a punch in this whole list is the Frostlord.

These melee beaters are supported by a couple of casters (including the Frostlord, which has the Arcane Tome), which can spit out buffs or debuffs as needed, and an Ironblaster, which can be used to clear out screens or as a supplementary combatant if it gets the Blubbergrub Stench spell cast on it.  A unit of Gnoblars rounds things out as a screen/objective grabber.  It will typically be guarding the Ironblaster as it advances into range for its Hail Shot (by far its most effective mode of shooting), but it can also guard one of the Ogor units in a pinch.

Overall, I am thrilled to see that this sort of list is still good enough to take down tournaments, and recommend taking it out for a spin, as it’s a ton of fun.

Aaron Newbom: This list is a straight up brawler

The brand new Ard Boyz pack quite a punch and stick around while they do it to build Waaagh points and then utilize them efficiently as well.

Gobbsprakk, combined with andtorian acolytes battallion and Big Waaaghs bonus to cast and dispel creates an incredibly dominant magic force.

Breaka boss, brutes, pigs, this list has hammer after hammer after hammer

I love this list. It seems fun, rock solid, and fun

Joshua Bennett: Hello readers welcome back to another top showing of our favorite murder ladies.  Today we are looking at Dale Johnson’s list and we love to see the non-Morathi witch elves spam.

This list consists of two of their most reliable casters in the acolytes battalion which allows them the chance of getting the ever needed primal dice. This helps them get blizzard and mindrazor off to make the the witch elves even more deadly.

Two of the smaller units of witches are armed with the bucklers to make them better for screening.  They will stick around a little longer while you prepare the 20 block to take on whatever is in your way.  Teamed up with the Gladiatrix and the Hagg Nar temple, your witches can hit and wound on two’s with Mindrazor, can be rend two, and damage two.  At three attacks each you’re looking at a lot of damage into anything.

The avatars are going to run around the board doing some really cool monsters action.  These guys are also totems, issuing commands 18 inches out.  While they deal a lot of damage they also have a decent save with a high wound count that allows them to stick around a while.

The last thing that makes this list a problem for most lists in a GT setting, is that it scores five battle tactics and a grand strategy consistently that are almost impossible to stop.  Meaning that you have to score everything and also get the objectives or you will find yourself falling behind very quickly.  It’s great to see DOK in a good standing again.  maybe this is a foreshadowing of what is to come in the future?

*Battle Regiment

Total: 1980 / 2000

Beasts of Chaos have settled into a pretty nice groove overall these days – thankfully far from the janky, meta-terrors they used to be – but still perfectly capable of competing.

The core around which most of their strongest lists are built is a brick of Bullgors – unsurprising for anyone who’s played/against them – because of their charge mortals and mad damage spike potential. In a big brick, they’re a super dense wound total too, meaning they’re difficult to commit to and offer lots of rallying potential.

Supporting them are a mixture of Ungors and Raiders for sneaky ranged chip damage and sniping potential and the usual core heroes.

But then Be’Lakor enters chat – ready to shut down the biggest threat to the Bullgors and allowing way more insurance across the double (or in the event of a failed charge), helping the stampeding hammer to survive and carry on their rampage.

Also noteworthy is the chaos gargant, who’s a cheap, fast monster who once engaged can help the Ungor hit above their weight due to the Garg’s -1 to save aura. Losing only to Meatfist, who for sure have the distributed hammers to deal with the Bullgors, this Darkwalkers list successfully dealt with some nasty threats, especially Khorne, for a well deserved 4-1.
