Top Three AoS Lists for the Battle Rage Ballerup 2026

This is the top three AoS lists for the Battle Rage Ballerup 2026 that took place in Denmark between the 24th and 25th of October 2026. It saw 49 players vying to be crowned champion in a 5-game tournament.

Before we jump into the Top Three AoS Lists, I want to invite everyone of our friendly Discord server where you can join in the conversation with the Woehammer crew and suggest articles or series for the website.

The Top Three AoS Lists

Lodivicus: Morten has put together the dankest of Danks list here. Let’s break it down.

The first thing that jumped out to me was the triple Dankhold Troggoths. With their Wade and Smash rampage ability, they are one of my consistently favourite tech pieces of the edition. Even though it’s ‘Once Per Turn (Army), Any Combat Phase’, having three of them opens a lot of vectors for Morten to get into combat and gave his opponents lots to have to think about.

Next, the Rockguts, a core component of almost every successful Gitz list right now. Add in Droggz behind them for some -1 to hit, Itchy Nuisance for -1 to wound, Moonlit Hide to subtract 1 from rend, Troggherd healing, and they become an exceptional tarpit capable of holding objectives against all but the heaviest of hitters.

Skragrott adds in two spell casts but just as importantly offers The Loonking’s Entreaty (to pause the Moon phase) and his Babbling Wand can give Moonclan free redeploys. Not to mention his Warscroll spell is pure fire.

Bounderz are the fast hammer. Loonboss on Giant Cave Squig is (I suspect) primarily a mobile PoP camper. Gobbapalooza casts a spell and turns off commands or hands out rend. (Yes, I realize I’m rushing a bit through these, but I’m excited to talk about the final unit.)

Glitzy Shootas! Absolutely my favourite piece of this GHB and (imo) a unit that should go into almost every Gitz list atm. 40 Glitzy Shootas with Palooza rend and All Out Attack gives us 81 3/4 rend 1 damage 1 attacks. By far the best ranged output we’ve had access to in recent memory.

Congratulations to Morten on his 5-0 with such an innovative and uncommon list.

Mike Mercurio: I said it once and I’ll say it again. All hail the Everqueen!

Alarielle is back on the warpath with another Sylvaneth Monster list, but this time it’s personal. This list runs a bit thinner on the ground and has no room for Aspect of Heartwood, meaning it relies on the guaranteed Heal (3) for monsters from Lords of the Clan more than most. But that’s alright, as Alarielle can double dip with her guaranteed 2D6 heal every hero phase, so if you want her gone be certain to do it in one go. Though she’ll be back anyway.

The Arch-Revenant has seen a bit of a resurgence recently, and I’m all for it. It’s a great little scoring piece or Place of Power attendant. It can even contribute to the fight by stopping a counter charge, then zipping out to safety in the combat phase. While letting the Gossamid Archers take some pot shots at the offending enemy unit. The Spirit of Durthu also makes its presence known, sporting the famed and feared Glamourweave. Re-rolling one hit, wound, or save roll per phase is a massive boon to the model, and can smooth out some of that swingy damage profile. While normally the slowest piece in the army, between the run and charge spell or Realmroot Guide, it can deliver that damage where it’s needed most. Not to mention, with all the heroes in the list Durthu can very easily be +2 to charge as long as they are in combat.

Overall an elite list that packs both a strong punch and deft defenses against a lot of threats in the current meta.

Andy Hesik: You’ll see at the top of this list a very specific and polarizing warscroll – Kragnos, the End of Empires – which carries a list archetype of its own (and this list exists within).

While some folks may take umbrage with Kragnos’ aesthetic stylings or lore attachment to the realms, destruction strategies love Kragnos. Right off the top, he provides two main synergies for the list (in addition to, himself, being a deliverable boat-load of charge and combat damage).

Synergy 1: His 3d6 charge aura consistently unlocks the +1 attack (for non-heroes) bonus from the battle formation, “Ironjawz Brawl” (requiring an unmodified 8+” charge)
Synergy 2: The added charge dice also generally takes what is otherwise an extremely slow army (moving 4” each, on foot) and gives it surprising burst speed.

Leaning into that second synergy, the list features an SoA Megaboss, providing a once/round extra Mighty Destroyers (hero phase 3” move), and a reinforced unit of Brute Ragers (who have run/charge and strike first on charge) making this list deceptively fast for being fairly foot-bound.

Providing some objective consistency and activation control, you have a Tuskboss handing out an additional +1” to charge when they land a charge themselves and a Mawgrunta Gouger, providing a strike-last effect on charge, giving the list greater control over how activation sequences occur in combat.

Couple that with the utility of a 1-2 cast wizard in the Weirdnob Shaman and the infantry crit-mortal buff from Zoggrokk Anvilsmasha and you have quite the combination.

At its heart, this list is classic “Core-Hammer” – using movement tech to get strong placement on the board while maintaining appropriate threat ranges, ensuring it can deliver its punch first and you can be sure that punch is going through whatever it hits like a wet paper bag.

Looking at Rasmus’ matchups, a single loss to Sylvaneth makes sense, as that matchup compounds movement tech, recursion, and counter-sequencing throughout the full duration of the game, playing on one of this list’s main weaknesses, being that it does eventually run out of gas when punched back. That said, all four of the other matchups pose their own challenges (not the least of which being that they’re all fairly strong factions in the current meta), but this list is conclusively well-rounded enough to have a tactical toolkit for all of the questions they pose.

Congrats to Rasmus on a great result!

Roland Rivera: Ogors have been doing well of late, and this pilot decided to not fix what isn’t broken, as he brought the exact list that took down the most recent Las Vegas Open. The premise here is pretty simple: Ogor units like Gluttons, Gorgers, and Hunters are efficient on both damage and health for their points, so you stuff the list full of them and bring some support pieces to make them better at imposing your will on your opponent.

Speaking of support, Ogors have one of the best options in that department in Redd the Maw. He’s a durable Wizard that projects a Ward bubble (particularly helpful for Gorgers, whose native 6+ Ward turns into a 5+ Ward when near him), has a strong movement related warscroll spell, and can let you tap into your Eat ‘Em Alive battle trait buffs during your Hero phase for the cost of a command point. Putting buffs like run & charge, -1 Rend, or crit (2 hits) on your already-efficient really helps you push your stats advantage over most armies.

Another great support piece is the Scourge of Aqshy Huskard on Thundertusk, which gives you very useful fury level manipulation and is a good caddy for potent enhancements like A Choice Cut (which is an aura that lets you ignore the first damage point taken each phase) and Leave Not a Morsel (which prevents healing and recursion). Last but not least, the Maw-Cult Fanatics provides a nice bit of healing to your multiple-health models. While this list requires a bit more cleverness than what you would assume between managing to keep your units in their buff bubbles and the ability to threaten ambushes with the Gorgers and the Hunters, the overall gameplan is refreshingly direct, and the list continues to prove itself at the tournament level.
