Battleforce boxes are back after their successes since 2020. These are a fantastic way to get into a new army or even add to an existing one, but what’s inside them and what is the saving?
Prices in 2024 were around £150 each so with the October price rise, I expect these to be £160 each (update! £155 each). In the meantime I thought our readers would like to know the value of the toys… so see below against each box:
Battleforce Boxset
Cost
RRP
Skaven – Skryre Warpswarm
£231.00
£160.00 (Est)
Soulblight Gravelords – Lances of the Crimson Keep
£245.00
£160.00 (Est)
Gloomspite Gitz – Dankhold Rampage
£229.50
£160.00 (Est)
Slyvaneth – Outcast Spitegrove
£231.50
£160.00 (Est)
There’s good consistent value in each box, with Vordhai pusing the Soulblight Gravelords to the top of the pack. In fact Age of Sigmar is consistently better value than the 40k Battleforces based on RRP.
There’s a lot of big characters in here (except the Skaven), suggesting the boxes are aimed more at the ‘new army’ crowd… that said the Skaven one looks like a great expansion for Skaventide released last year.
It is a surprise to see no Stormcast here either, given they were in the box in 2024, but they have done one box per Grand Alliance so I guess that’s fair!
These are best ordered from your FLGS especially if they can get them in, and make a few pounds, dollars, euros from them in the expensive Christmas period.
Alternatively, if you regularly use Element Games, you can pick them up there… using our affiliate link (for which we receive a small contribution to the site)
So what do you get inside and how much would it cost you normally?

So what do you think good value or not? Will you be picking up a set?
I’ve had the itch to start a Soulblight Gravelords army for ages (honestly), and it turns out the undead are very patient. While I’m more of a painter than a player, this time I’m looking to change that. My goal is to raise not just beautifully (hopefully) painted miniatures from the dead, but also my gaming skills. From Grave to Glory, this series will follow my journey from the humble beginnings of a Spearhead box to a fully fledged Soulblight force, and maybe even a few victories along the way (I can dream).
I’ve decided to start with the older Soulblight Gravelords Spearhead box. Yes, the one that’s vanished from the Games Workshop store like a vampire at dawn but still lurks on various third-party sites. I chose it over the newer box because, quite simply, it offers more bite for your buck.
Here’s what’s inside:
1x Vampire Lord
20x Deathrattle Skeletons – The backbone (literally) of the force.
5x Blood Knights
3x Vargheists
Theme: “Death’s Season”
This army will be steeped in the decay of autumn, when the leaves fall, and the dead rise. Think dusty orange-browns for cloaks, dark mouldy green for armour, sickly yellows for banners, and green magical glow effects. The bases will be littered with autumnal detritus: leaves, browns, ochres, and just a touch of rot.
Bits & Bones
I’ve not actually got had the opportunity to paint minis yet, but I’ve used dreaded AI to come up with a few possible themes that may work.
The one that really caught my eye, but perhaps with more a green tint to the armour.
WIP on replicating the scheme
The tunic is a 1:1 mix of Steel Legion Drab and Wild Rider Red, aiming for a worn, autumnal orange-brown. The armour started with Castellan Green and was drybrushed with Runelord Brass to give it a weathered, aged-metal look. The banner is a 50/50 mix of Steel Legion Drab and Fire Dragon Bright. I’ll be adding a design and some glow effects to the eyes next. All the wood and leather were done in Rhinox Hide for that deep, earthy tone. I hope this all comes together for a rich, autumn-season vibe. Though I think the tunic could be a little darker.
Next Steps:
Over the next month, my plan is:
Paint the entire Spearhead to tabletop standard (or better, depending on how much the vampires drain me).
Get some games in, hopefully with actual living opponents.
Reflect on gameplay and look at which models (or playstyles) I might want to expand into as I build towards a 1,000-point list.

Roland Rivera: A Mortal-heavy Reapers of Vengeance list is not exactly a common sight, but such is the power of its effect of providing bonus Blood Tithe for slain enemy Heroes that you can make it work. The Hero lineup features most of the big hits: a Bloodthirster of Unfettered Fury with Firebrand as a powerhouse to build your center around, Skarbrand as a steady and mostly independent hammer, multiple Priests to leverage the excellent prayer scripture and invocations, and Skarr Bloodwrath as a reusable source of Blood Tithe.
The troops themselves feature a mix of native Khorne troops and Allies from Slaves to Darkness: the reinforced blob of Blood Warriors will take and hold the middle, whereas the Flesh Hounds and Bloodreavers serve as cheap screens that can generate Blood Tithe on death. The Furies can also serve that role, but provide additional mobility to help pressure faraway objectives.
Khorne continues to be in a strong position, and this list is a good example of why this is the case: the combination of durability, reliability, and mobility makes it a powerful army in the hands of a skilled player.
Army Faction: Orruk Warclans – Army Type: Big Waaagh! – Grand Strategy: Waaagh! (Battleline or General in enemy territory at end of game) – Triumph: Indomitable (pass battleshock)

BATTLELINE Orruk Brutes (280)** (+1 to hit models with 4+ wounds. Models with 1 wounds can’t contest within 3″) – Brute Boss – Boss Choppa – Jagged Gore-hacka Orruk Brutes (140)** – Brute Boss – Boss Choppa – Jagged Gore-hacka Gutrippaz (150)*** (-1 to hit from non Hero, non monsters) – Gutrippa Banner Bearer – Gutrippa Hornblower – Gutrippa Boss – Wicked Stikka
OTHER Brute Ragerz (200)** (run and charge) – 6 x Mighty Gore-hacka
ENDLESS SPELLS & INVOCATIONS 1 x Suffocating Gravetide (30)
Roland Rivera: It’s not often that you see a Maw-krusha in Big Waaagh lists, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t potent. Its combination of speed and hitting power can be a daunting complement to the board presence and magical power typical of Big Waaagh armies.
Alongside the big guy is an interesting combination of Ironjawz threats – Brute Ragerz pack a lot of punch on the cheap, and Brutes bring both damage and the ability to bully smaller models off objectives. Alongside them is a unit of Gutrippaz that acts as a screen that can also take down weaker units, and a fairly typical Hero lineup of Gobsprakk, a Wurrgog Prophet, a Weirdnob Shaman with Da Great Big Green Hand of Gork, and a couple of Warchanters to lay down Violent Fury on the Ironjawz.
Because the Maw-krusha is not often seen in Big Waaagh, your opponents may not be prepared for it, and that kind of curveball can be a very useful tool.
Army Faction: Soulblight Gravelords – Army Type: Vyrkos – Grand Strategy: Empire of Corpses

OTHER 10 x Black Knights (130) – Hellknight – Standard Bearer 3 x Fell Bats (90) 3 x Vargheists (140)
CORE BATTALIONS: *Andtorian Acolytes
TOTAL POINTS: (1985/2000)
Roland Rivera: While this list is in Vyrkos, and has some of the Vyrkos mainstays in Zombies and Belladamma, it has a very interesting mix of units. Vyrkos is normally all about the Deadwalkers, but this list has a big blob of 30 Skeletons (!), as well as 10 Black Knights (!!) and some Vargheists (!!!). The surprises don’t end there, as even Ivya Volga makes an appearance.
The gameplan, however, is the same as it typically is for Vyrkos – drown your opponent in bodies, and pick them back up when they die. The Black Knights offer you a bit of a counterpunch angle with the mortal wounds on the charge, and the Vargheists can threaten backfields with their flight speed and deepstrike ability.
Overall, this is a bit of an unusual list, but unusual doesn’t always mean bad, as its results demonstrate.

TOTAL POINTS: 1990/2000
Roland Rivera: Given that this tournament was held after the most recent Battlescroll and that it seems to have applied its rules (as evidenced by the points cost on the Claws of Karanak), I think it’s pretty surprising to The Coven of Thryx still being used in a Khorne list. It’s a pretty unpopular inclusion nowadays (since its spells can automatically fail on a 5+), but the endless spell popping up automatically at the start of the game and being replaced automatically when Horrors die near the Magister ameliorates that risk of failure a bit.
This list in particular was all-in on cheap fodder units to toss in front of the Coven’s endless spells to make Tzeentch Chaos Spawn – Karanak, Garrek’s Reavers, the Claws of Karanak, and the Bloodreavers all qualify for this purpose. Skarr Bloodwrath is also present in this list as a cheap, reusable source of Blood Tithe. Beyond that, we have Skarbrand as a one-man band, the Bloodthirster of Insensate Rage as a big lotto ticket that can turn off Wards, a couple of Priests to access the excellent prayer scripture, and a somewhat uncommon Command Trait in Favoured of Khorne (which gives you 1 Blood Tithe point to start the game).
While we likely won’t see many Khorne lists built with the Coven going forward, the rest of the pieces are synergistic and powerful enough that Khorne should remain a contender going forward.
Flesh eater courts Subfaction: Morgaunt Grand Strategy: Defend the throne Triumph: Inspired
Roland Rivera: I love me a good brawler list, and boy can this list brawl. Each and every one of its troops is a threat, especially when they are the recipients of the Violent Fury buff from one of the Warchanters. The decision to make Gobsprakk the General might seem like a curious one, since it means the list misses out on a command trait, but it does so to gain access to an easy Battle Tactic in Take Dat, Ya Suckers!
The troop lineup is a murderer’s row, each with its own unique advantages. Ardboyz have the strongest armor and are fresh off a points cut, Brutes are strong tech against blobs of low-Wound models, Gore-Gruntas have the best move speed, and Brute Ragerz do the most damage point-for-point while offering a bit of extra speed with their ability to run & charge. The combination of these attributes with the Weirdnob’s Great Green Hand of Gork will let you pick your fights in ways that you’re favored to win.
The lineup is rounded out by Big Waaagh! mainstays in the Wurrgog Prophet and the aforementioned Gobsprakk and Warchanters. I’m somewhat iffy on the choice of extra enhancement Gary took for his Warlord Battalion (is an extra spell on 2 casters really the best of what’s available?), but everything else is a masterful exercise in listbuilding, even if the record itself is a bit weaker than what we typically see out of a podium list.
Army Faction: Soulblight Gravelords – Army Type: Legion of Night – Grand Strategy: Lust for Domination – Triumphs: Bloodthirsty
LEADER 1 x Vampire Lord on Zombie Dragon (480) – Deathlance – Spells: Spirit Gale 1 x Vampire Lord (150)* – General – Command Traits: Unbending Will – Artefacts: Morbheg’s Claw – Spells: Merciless Blizzard 1 x Necromancer (100)* – Spells: Hoarfrost 1 x Mannfred Von Carstein (400)** – Spells: Waste Away
BATTLELINE 3 x Fell Bats (100)** 3 x Fell Bats (100)** 20 x Deadwalker Zombies (150)** 20 x Deadwalker Zombies (150)**
ENDLESS SPELL 1 x Aethervoid Pendulum (50)
OTHER 20 x Grave Guard (320)** – Seneschal – 2 x Standard Bearer – 2 x Hornblower – Great Wight Blade
Roland Rivera: Seeing Legion of Night featured in a list article is no surprise; it’s been by far the most consistently performing Soulblight subfaction (though the record on this particular list is a bit lower than we typically see for a list with this high a placement). The mobility tricks afforded by Mannfred & Co. allow skilled pilots to create advantageous positions with ease.
The lineup here is pretty standard fare: blobs of Summonable troops to take punches and leverage the Unbending Will command trait, Grave Guard to counterpunch, Mannfred and a Vampire Lord on Zombie Dragon to act as big, mobile threats, and a foot Vampire Lord to carry the command trait and artefact while juicing up the Grave Guard. Some lists go for more of a mix in the Summonable department, but David doubled up on the 2 mainstays in Fell Bats and Zombies, and put in a bit of interesting tech in the form of the Aethervoid Pendulum.
While the formula for Legion of Night is well established at this point, knowing what it does is only half the battle. Outmaneuvering a list capable of so many different movement tricks is easier said than done.

The Top Three AoS Lists
Army Faction: Seraphon – Army Type: Starborne – Subfaction: Dracothion’s Tail – Grand Strategy: Spellcasting Savant – Triumph: Inspired
LEADERS Lord Kroak (440)* Slann Starmaster (310)** – General – Command Traits: Arcane Might – Artefacts of Power: Spacefolder’s Stave – Spells: Comet’s Call, Hoarfrost Saurus Astrolith Bearer (160)** Skink Starseer (160)** – Spells: Cosmic Crush, Merciless Blizzard
Boris Belić: Everyone knows what Starborne does, and it’s been doing what it does for a while now. So, the goal of the list was to address the obvious problem: how to shore up weaknesses while still capitalizing on the core strengths. The solution, for me, was to include 15/5 Saurus Guard in DT and invest heavily in Endless Spells, along with a different trait to the nerfed Celestial Resonance.
The flexibility is staggering. Hoarfrost versus BoK suddenly gives those 15 Guards some non-spell damage output for objective contesting. Against KO, BoC, or any other alpha strike list, the 15 Guards can soak up anything, allowing the casters to wipe the board in the following hero phase. Against any other army, the 15 Guards can be in the sky, and after teleporting Kroak forward to unload mortals, they come down to protect as the second layer of screens, summoning Skinks in front for a double screen if needed.
The choice of Endless Spells is based on versatility. Almost all lists have something important with low speed for Jaws, QSS to counteract the rising ward prominence, and Pendulum primarily to cut down KO ships with everything inside them, though other uses are always available. Overall, the list still struggles somewhat versus anti-magic, though to a lesser degree, while not only retaining the overall Starborne strengths but also offering flexibility to approach each matchup from a better angle.
Army Faction: Cities of Sigmar – List Name: My Little Ponies – Subfaction: Misthåvn – Grand Strategy: Banners Held High – Triumph: Inspired
Andrej Bunjac: To be fairly honest, my original goal for this tournament was to make a list I had fun with in terms of gameplay rather than chasing serious results or good placement. Originally I got very disappointed by playing the shooting castle that Cities were originally hyped with because it just forces me to play passive and pray to get some good rolls on prayers / spells in order to do anything. I ended up compensating for this by creating a highly mobile army with 3 monsters and 20 cavaliers and some modicum of support in terms of Command Corps and a Battlemage.
The list was crafted before the battlescroll, and it was very lucky to survive the battlescroll because of Tahlia’s generous -40 points update. I was torn between putting it in Excelsis or Misthavn, but I decided I had enough punch from the warscrolls themselves and wanted additional movement shenanigans.
The game plan is simple – you have enough mobility to be outside of the range from any major threats the opponents can bring to the table and still be able to catch them. This was most apparent in my Kruleboyz matchup where the Boltboyz couldn’t do what they usually do best – snipe threats before they become threats.
The Battlemage on Griffon is a surprisingly strong piece and can be made even stronger provided appropriate buffs like Flaming Weapon. On multiple occasions in the tournament, both my opponent and I were shocked by the output potential there.
As for Tahlia, I never got in a situation where her combat rally would be valuable to use, but her double order and punch alone made her a valuable piece to have in the lineup. The list is quite smooth with achieving battle tactics – you can make good use of Mount the Charge and Raise the Banner from the Cities book at correct times in the game. And then there is enough GHB tactics for you to fill up the remaining three.
An unusual choice I made in the list was putting a Ritual Dagger as a trinket for the Battlemage. The reasoning was knowing that with 6 drops I will rarely get priority and in case I am stuck playing first – I want to be able to buff up the 10 block of cavaliers with Pha’s Protection and Hoarfrost to make them a big counter charge threat or a pinning block.
The list was originally at 1970 pre-battlescroll and it went down to 1960 post-battlescrll. I decided to not make changes and be happy with a hefty triumph bid making sure you always have access to very needed +1 wound buff at a correct time.
All in all, I was quite happy with how the list operated in different scenarios given the limited utilization of the toolbox available to Cities and most of it was due to the surprising movement spikes you can get in the hero phase that enable you to position exactly how and where you want. On the weak side – its lack of mortal wound protection makes it fragile into many matchups, most notably Seraphon, where you would always be playing an uphill battle and scraping for points and being very powerful screen-killer.

OTHER 1 x Grundstok Gunhauler (180)* – Sky Cannon 1 x Gotrek Gurnisson (480)*
CORE BATTALIONS: *Battle Regiment
TOTAL POINTS: (1960/2000)
Timon Grabovac: For me, this list answered the question, how to play KO without having 5 three hour long games.
We have 2 hammers in the always solid Gotrek and an amazing combination of 9 Endrinriggers and an Arkanaut Frigate. Gotrek has the incredible ability, to zone out a section of the board and is perfect bait for less experienced or overly brave players that think fighting him is a good idea. Gotrek’s presence in the middle of the board also discourages most armies from advancing their castle towards him, thus giving you time to wait out an opportunity to strike, while scoring the easy battle tactics KO have at their disposal.
This coupled with the Navigator debuffs and Brokk’s solid shooting gives a well rounded army that can adapt to most situations and pack a massive punch on the Frigate’s 3D6 charge.
Following the latest battlescroll, the point increases meant I had to reduce one unit of Arkanauts to 10, which was very likely the deciding factor in my round one loss agains BoC, where I was unable to effectively screen my army from the Bullgor charge.
Army Faction: Soulblight Gravelords – Army Type: Legion of Night – Grand Strategy: Empire of Corpses – Triumphs: Inspired
LEADER 1 x Vampire Lord on Zombie Dragon (480) – General – Command Traits: The Bait – Deathlance – Artefacts: Shard of Night – Spells: Vile Transference 1 x Mannfred Von Carstein (400)* – Spells: Waste Away 1 x Vampire Lord (150)* – Spells: Hoarfrost
BATTLELINE 30 x Deathrattle Skeletons (110)* – Skeleton Champion – 3 x Standard Bearer 20 x Deadwalker Zombies (150)* 20 x Deadwalker Zombies (150)* 20 x Deadwalker Zombies (150)* 10 x Dire Wolves (150)* – Doom Wolf
CORE BATTALIONS: *Battle Regiment
TOTAL POINTS: (1960/2000)
Enes Humic: The general idea of the list is board control and using the Legion’s excellent traits to pin the opponents’ army in their deployment zone and denying the objectives. A block of thirty skeletons was supported by Vampire Lord with Hoarfrost spell in order to give them some damage output but primarily to be a main anvil of the army. Zombies and wolves are used for early pinning and completing battle tactics.
The army was deployed in a way that enables countercharge with Zombie Dragon or Mannfred, and using Unleash Hell on Zombie Dragon and Legion’s specific Monstrous Rampage to get 2 D6 attacks. This is where the primary damage output comes.
In the early game, I would keep them safe and only engage targets. I am sure I can destroy, never leave both of them in dangerous positions. Only later in the game would I commit them to fights.
In general, one hundred models on the table provide me with excellent screening and denying opponents’ movement. The list was really fun to play because of teleporting/countercharging shenanigans made possible in the Legion of the Night, and often surprise opponents who didn’t consider that extra movement with which you can easily steal objectives and deny battle tactics.
This is the top three AoS lists for the Midwest Bash 2024 GT that took place in the USA on the 17th and 18th of February. It saw 28 players vying to be crowned champion in a 5-game tournament.

The Top Three AoS Lists
Allegiance: Soulblight Gravelords – Subfaction: Legion of Night – Grand Strategy: Empire of Corpses – Triumph: Inspired

Units 20 x Grave Guard (320)** – Great Wight Blades – Reinforced x 1
Roland Rivera: While we have seen Legion of Night lists starring Mannfred before, the tactical depth of being able to counter-charge enemy units (via Ageless Cunning), teleport your Heroes on demand (via Swift Form), or have Mannfred preemptively charge an opponent that merely gets near him (via Mortarch of Night) cannot be overstated. These tools (along with the gravesite deepstrikes that are available to every Soulblight player) let you dictate many engagements, which means you will have a strong chance to win almost any game.
Alongside Mannfred are the usual suspects – a Vampire Lord with Unbending Will magnifies the effectiveness of your Summonable objective sitters, Necromancers make good Blizzard caddies thanks to their bodyguard save, and Grave Guard make for a very reliable hammer that absorbs buffs extremely well.
There are some interesting additions in this list, however – Lauka Vai is a great independent operator that is also capable of some shenanigans if she resolves her 6″ pile-in spell, and a unit of Vargheists gives you a deepstriking unit with enough punch to force your opponent to respect the threat of it. All in all, this list has a seemingly endless bag of tricks to keep its opponents off balance, and has the results to prove its power.

TOTAL POINTS: (1980/2000)
Jake Bentrup: This list revolves around a core of 2×6 eels and an akhelian king with the typical unstoppable fury, voidchill darkness load out. The game plan is to make the opponent go first in round 1 and stay in position to give away priority in 2–that way bottom of 2 the eel+king combo can pop Lord of Tides for d3 units fight first, and I get to remove key pieces without my opponent getting a turn to slap back before my high tide in turn 3. The supporting cast is a not-so-typical eidolon of the storm and The Blacktalons. The Eidolon is there for its +1 to wound(excluding mounts) aura and as an unexpectedly durable hammer. It also gets my Artefact choice of bioshock shell for a once per game chance to make an enemy hero fight last in case any big punchy heroes want to get in my face turn 1. The Blacktalons work rather well in Idoneth as Lorai has all the right keywords to get a ritual option, and the companions do a great job as a mid board anchor for Neave Neave herself is an absolute bully and works great either for harassing units that I’d rather not stay in combat with or taking out small heroes and then popping back to safety to repeat the process. Finally, we have 3 MSU reaver squads to act as a screen turn 1 and chip through screens or soften up priority targets.

Eli Sweatt: I started originally with a plan to make a BoC list that worked without Be’lakor or Bullgors. It evolved into a list that punishes opponents that make me go first and counter deploying. Then harassing my opponent with chip dmg from while flooding the board and then following up with an Enlightended counter punch once turn 2 rend kicks in.
The punch of this list is the Enlightened Tzaangor. The ones on disc can be anywhere they need to be with their movement for the counterpunch. And the ones on foot are cheap and can trade up at an amazing price price. The only downside for the foot variant is their movement but Slakefray Reveller (+3 normal move for all units on field if unit is within 6″ of terrain) fixes that making their movement a respectable 9″ with some planning. Plus, denying cmds in the combat phase really messes with opponents’ expectations.
The ungor and ungor raiders are the workhorses. They screen, they poke, they darkwalkers away, they steal objectives and are my main battle tactic scorers.
As for heroes, my Brayshaman General’s whole life is one of solitude living behind a herdstone in the corner. Doing so helps keep the odds of the grand strategy spellcasting savant high and keeps my Slakefray Reveller active.
Fellhoof is just the best point cost for ritual of ruins off the table. He does ritual of ruins at 18″ like bray shamans but has 6 wounds so he can typically survive the 2d3 mortals to himself it costs for turn 1 and 2. Then he comes in with an amazing warscroll spell of +1 to hit and d3 mortals to a target. The extra lads that he comes with are just a bonus and a usually a throw-away screen or to contest an unappealing objective at the start of a game. Overall, he saves me 20 points vs. two shamans, and I get an extra screen.
The Tzaangor shaman is my Blizzard wizard due to his once per game cast at +3. But he does more his ability to zip around the table and use Bleating Gnarlstaff on terrain and objectives (End of my movement if he is within 6 of one on a 2+ he does d3 mortals to all Non BoC units within 6″ of that terrain or objective). That alone is amazing and made it my favorite artefact in the book, but even better, it combos with the Coven.
Now, the Coven of Thryx is the secret spice. Originally, I added it in to prevent all ins from opponents on turn 1. While it does that decently, It does something more to armies that want to give me the first turn and bunker. I realized that with Bleating Gnarlstaff hitting non BoC units, I can force the endless spells of the coven to swap during the end of movement so I can get a double tap off of the sigil switch. I call it the Coven trick.
The typical plan for this list goes like this. Once my opponent finishes dropping, I deploy the Coven with the magister outside of 30 of any opponent heroes. If giving second turn, I summon a sigil defensively before the game starts, but if given first, the Coven trick is on. I summon the Simulacrum before the start of the game from the magister. Do magical Dominance turn 1 and cast the Tome of Eyes. Run the magister, run forward 11, and move the pink horrors near a terrain. Use Tzaangor Shaman’s Bleating Gnarlstaff at end of movement on the terrain and hit the horrors. Turn the Tome of eyes into the sigil via Coven of Thryx end of phase ability creating a sigil in the opponents face that activates twice. Once for the swap (via Coven of Thryx warscroll) and again for the normal Sigil end of movement activation.
In the recent battlescroll the Coven did get a rewrite to clean up some of the wording and change some slight behavior of the trick (like make it easier to repeat) but the core basis of the Coven trick remained and still functions.
I suspect a hidden control build exists in Slaves to Darkness featuring this trick via a Fomoroid Crusher and include Belakor for more control but someone else can figure that out.

David Erger: There is not much to say about the list, other than it’s all about deception. Only the gitz player knows where the fanatics are hiding at and with the clammy hand command trait, plus the King’s Gitz battle trait. You bring back almost guaranteed two units at the end of the turn.
A fun thing to do is to put your shoota units in a horseshoe formation. Depending on what is going to charge the shoota unit, you can put your fanatics in the open part, and they can swing over the shoota unit due to them having 3 inch melee range. And Grinkrak can “I Dub Thee” on them.
