The Top Three AoS Lists
Fyreslayers Scales of Vulcatrix (10 Points) General’s Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 5 Prayer Lore – Vulkyn Gifts Manifestation Lore – Magmic Invocations Battle Tactic Cards: Intercept and Recover, Restless Energy
General’s Regiment Auric Runefather on Magmadroth (320) • General Scourge of Ghyran Auric Runeson on Magmadroth (320) • Incandescent Blaze • Blood of the Berzerker Regiment 1 Scourge of Ghyran Auric Runeson on Magmadroth (330) • Droth-helm – (10) Points Regiment 2 Scourge of Ghyran Auric Runeson on Magmadroth (320)
Kevin Lathers: Another 5-0 for Fyreslayers with a resounding win from David.
This list leans hard into Magmadroths with five total on the field. The SoG Runeson on Magmadroth is a hammer and this list exists to table opponents with three of them. Adding fuel to the fyre is the Hearthguard Berserkers with Broadaxes which gain an attack near damaged heroes: meaning shooting or attacking the droths makes the lone infantry unit a true hammer — especially if paired with a rune use of Crit(Mortal).
The Smiter Magmadroth also adds a useful rampage (mortal damage to large model count units) and ability (priest and +1 wound to a nearby unit) to the mix for some utility and defensive power to support the 3 hammers. The rampage alone can sometimes justify the smiter droth where a pre-combat 4-6 mortal damage can be the difference between a SonDroth living or dying.
The Runefather exists to give -1 save to enemies, +1 damage to the SonDroths and +1 attack to broadaxes (on top of their possible warscroll bonus, for 4 attacks per model). His damage ain’t nothing but he’s just a further set piece for the son droths.
Similarly the Runemaster exists as battle trait rune buff and a prayer machine. It’s good to note that the prayer lore further enhances things with the a hero phase movement, +1 to hit (enhanced for +2 companion attacks, even on the breath), and enhanced lava blood (3 or d3+3 extra damage on a bleed back can certainly add up).
The Runesons on Magmadroth are the center pieces here and the list revolves around them. One is a hammer in a list, but three can clear nearly anything in the game; and if they fail their lava blood can often knock in those few final damage points.
With good positioning and rune usage the list exists to table the opponents.
The lists big weakness, traditionally, is shooting which may kill Magmadroths without worry of their lava blood (made more potent by prayers) or their strikes first (activated once per game by runes). But with two KO players defeated, perhaps that is less than the whole truth.
The other issue, like all Fyreslayers lists, is that with a few misuses of once per game abilities, or slightly poor positioning, and the entire house of cards will fall apart on this list particularly hard. The wound count here is low with a monster spam list and magmadroths can die fast in the wrong places.
It’s an aggressive list and he brought it home. Congratulations to David.
Soulblight Gravelords Bacchanal of Blood General’s Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 4 Spell Lore – Lore of Undeath Manifestation Lore – Morbid Conjuration (30 Points) Battle Tactics Cards: Intercept and Recover and Master The Paths

Regiment 1 Wight King on Skeletal Steed (200) Barrow Knights (420) • Reinforced
Regiment 2 Lauka Vai, Mother of Nightmares (250) Terrorgheist (220)
Regiment 3 Vampire Lord (160) • Lash of the Sire • Shard of Night

Connor Irwin: Congratulations to Matthew Tyrrel for the excellent 5-0 showing with his monster-heavy Soulblight Gravelords at the Sydney GT.
Matthew picked the evergreen Bachannal of Blood formation to give his vampires +1 to their casting when out of combat and +1 to wound rolls when they charge. He had the points to spare, so he went with the morbid conjuration manifestation lore. The casting values in that lore are a little higher than average, but that’s where the formation bonus adds a lot of value. His tactic cards are Intercept and Recover and Master the Paths, both favoring his aggressive list design.
Starting from the bottom of the list, a rogue agent Vampire Lord bears both army enhancements, the Shard of Night and Lash of the Sire. Because of ability activation sequencing, this lets the Vampire Lord use its teleport ability on a 3+ and then its lash to nudge critical units d6” closer to their targets on another 2+. With a 3+ save, it presents a very unattractive covering fire target as well and can teleport right up to 3” from a hero. A solid tactical jack-knife wizard for its points.
Next, there’s momma Lauka Vai, a great beat stick by herself that has the usual rend debuff aura all vengorians sport and a punchy rampage. She also has the Queen’s Dictate warscroll spell that adds d3 attacks to a nearby monster’s companion weapon profile, or can boost her own impaling talons to devastating effect. The spell works very well with the Soulblight terrorghiest who loves the added chances to push 6 mortal damage out of its Fanged Maw critical hits, and is even very useful on vhodrai’s mount as well in a pinch (Peter – Edit: Apologies, we have since found that Lauka Vai’s spellcannot be used on unique monsters 13/10/25)
Next, there’s the surprising appearance of the Wight King on Skeletal Steed, which has come down in cost and adds punch and durability to the ten black knights it likely leads, unlocking their 5+ ward. The king’s ability to add +1 to hit for the knights when they attack units within 6” of an objective or terrain feature in enemy territory, then decrease the save of a unit it damages by -1 with his Ancient Barrow Curse means he can very effectively push a unit off an objective when the time comes. This is especially effective if the unit has fight-last from the Prison of Grief spell but demands some hard decisions of the opponent regardless.
Last, we come to Prince Vhodrai and his Blood Knight escort. You often see more blood knights, vargheists or trueblades to maximize the effect of his devastating Saint of Slaughter buffs, but some (myself for sure) have found the ability hard to get value out of with hammers spread all over the table. Matthew’s approach demands finesse, as he likely uses Vhodrai to soften up an enemy with his tricksy rampage and fight first spell, for the blood knights to finish the kill and collect their buffs. Even just five knights can become truly terrifying with +1 to damage and attacks, and have a much smaller footprint to get over enemy screens with their Trampled to Dust ability.
With Soulblight Gravelords coming into this recent battlescroll update a solidly mid-tier army, it’s awesome to immediately see a great performance using some non-traditional tools like the terrorghiest and mounted wight king.
Faction Terrain .Quints Boat – The ORCA. Gloomtide Shipwreck
Calypso: Mitch’s homage to Jaws (check the names) brought the sharks and eels out for a swim. Running four sharks, he uses Ethersea Predators to recur one a turn and swaps the usual Leviadon for an extra pack of eels and a Tidecaster. The list excels at spreading the board, and its defensive buffs make these drowned elves deceptively tanky—Tides provide -1 to Hit or -1 Rend. Knowing when to trigger each effect is an art, but the army’s speed lets it dictate engagements.
The spell lore skips the Incarnate of the Deep for the more controlling Aetherwrought Machinery. The Pendulum provides area denial and forces awkward positioning, while Cogs grants -1 to Hit for wizards. The Eidolon of the Sea brings a slick defensive kit, Merciless Raider allows the Eidolon a 6″ pile-in into a damaged unit, and when paired with the Armour of Cynthai, inflicts -1 to Hit on enemies in combat. Eight harpoon shots and eel charge damage ensure plenty of targets for that pile-in.
The Tidecaster can be devastating into certain matchups. The Ikon of the Storm is a great pick here too, offering Retreat and Charge to avoid being pinned down. With no Obscuring Terrain for anyone except the Tidecaster, the list handles CoS Cannons and KO shooting more comfortably with the Tidecaster.
The tactics choice is also clever. Scouting seems like the obvious pick for an army with six Scout units moving 12″ and the ability to return four from board edges. Master the Paths is a strong alternative different take from the ubiquitous Restless Energy or Wrathful Cycles. It forces some difficult choices – the three sharks able to teleport, they can easily pressure vulnerable support pieces.
This is a disciplined, controlling list executed expertly by Mitch—surely the shark in this picture. Judging by his expression, he’s enjoying a well-earned snack, likely courtesy of the AOS Coach as his tournament prize.
Maggotkin of Nurgle Plague Cyst General’s Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 4 Spell Lore – Lore of Malignance Prayer Lore – Bendictions of Sickness Manifestation Lore – Aetherwrought Machineries Battle Tactic Cards: Wrathful Cycles, Restless Energy
General’s Regiment Scourge of Ghyran Rotigus (430) • General Sloppity Bilepiper, Herald of Nurgle (100)
Regiment 2 Gutrot Spume (130) Lord of Plagues (100) Putrid Blightkings (190)

Hayden: With the scourge of ghyran update, we received lots of new and interesting tools to pilot and play our army. Here, I’ll explain how I try to push nurgle to its limit in a playstyle. I find fun and enjoyable!
Nurgle’s biggest weakness has always been it’s speed and with the continuous point drops that pusgoyles blight lords have received, it’s finally time to put them on the table. Not only do they help with speed to capture the early objective turn 1 for battle tactics, but with a 2″ unit coherency they are a great choice for really stretching out the screening needed to combat all the deep striking and teleporting going around.
Gutrot Spume with a Lord of Plagues and 5 BK make an appearance to help tag those back marker objectives your opponents have left open. Or they can help pin units that are making an attack on your army, and with the Lord of Plagues +1 attack on a 2+, it gives your 5 stack that perfect punch to help when needed.
The update to Rotigus has been huge, with its -1 to save starting on a 6″ bubble and increasing 3″ everytime on a roll of 6, helping to grind through those 3+ saves that most other armies struggle with. His rampage of dealing mortals equal to the amour save makes a big impact when people charge their big hero into Rotigus trying to take him down. The +1 to spell cast is nice on rotigus, and makes him able to cast the pendulum on a 5+, being the perfect screening tool to close up any gaps in the line, and being able to move it on your opponents turn to try and tag any units chasing down your front line.
With the real hero added to the soggy update being the Demon Prince. He’s often being run in most nurgle lists now, and the ability to deal mortals on a 3+ with the dice based on his movement means a potential counter charge can be brutal for your opponent.
we are running the rust fang here to help give out a permanent -1 amour save on your opponents big hero monsters helping to push through a turn 1 kill on their biggest target, with the potential mortal on his charge an a Sloppity buff on a 2+ turning off wards made by the DP attacks, this model can take down heros twice his point cost.
Another big point on this list is being 50 points under the 2k cap. This allows us to start the first turn with an extra CP which can come in handy. As with being a 4 drop list, most of the time, our opponents will out drop us, making us go first. This gives us the breathing room for magical intervention to retry a fleshy abundance if it failed on our turn, and being able to afford a counter charge, when your BK wall gets hit while leaving us with the option to all out attack or defence in the fighting phase.
With this list, you are no longer taking 20 BK an a hero and marching to the middle of the board while taking hits and hoping you survive. You have a frontline of 10BK and a soggy rotigus. Flank the edges with a DP all while trying to pin your opponents backline or edges with your deep striking unit, giving your nurgle the option to be the aggressor for once

Fittsy: I couldn’t let this one go uncommented. I’ve been following Sabetti’s rise to infamy with Gargants with interest and after seeing a comment on the Canada AoS discord about the lack of comment, I’ve stepped in where many would fear to stomp. The general consensus is that noone really knows how this list performs so well for Sabetti, not even himself so all that leaves me with is this summary:
“Sabetti rolls 4+s and eats pineapple pizza. He is single handedly to blame for getting the Big Pig list nerfed.”
Ok fine, here’s a legitimate comment. We’ve finally seen the SoB big pig list need to adapt with the points changes. Here, Brodd is out and instead we’ve got the Warstomper with Extra-calloused and Gatebreaker which are both pretty effective (for Gargants that is). Sons haven’t had it too easy in recent times with at best an average-ish winrate. Interestingly, SoB could arguably be called a high skill ceiling army… where most good players can consistently get average results and somehow this guy keeps terrorising the Canadian scene with them!

Aaron: Ironmongers is the tankiest of the tanky, and can survive the output of almost any army in the game by granting ‘Ard boyz a 5+ ward save as long as they’re near another ‘ard boy unit (with at least 3 models in it). This list is trying to leverage that survivability to slowly grind its opponent down using the powerful prayer, Making Gork Stomp a piece of terrain, giving it the ability to do d3 mortal wounds on a 2+ for the rest of the game.
‘Ard boyz shield bashes add another layer of grinding mortal wound damage that will slowly pull your opponents down in combination with Zoggroks powerful buff, which grants crit mortals. Piloting this list to 3rd place was a huge challenge, and most of my games came down to 2-3 point wins, but to pilot Da Ironmongas ya gotta be ded-‘ard in spirit.
This list gives up some of the most powerful abilities in classic IronJawz: Mighty Destroyers, teleports, +1 damage buffs, and most fo the rosters worth of warscrolls. In exchange you are granted unparalleled survivability, and possibly the strongest prayer in the entire game. In many games i found myself with 5 terrain pieces activated at once, creating a situation where any time my opponent moved they’d be taking 2-6d3 mortals, allowing me to dominate the late game and catch back up from having fallen behind early.
The ‘Ard boyz boss with “Oi, back to it” allows me to roll 12 dice when rallying ‘ard boyz. which, combined with their 5+ ward, often proves insurmountable. It’s a powerful list but a demanding one, as a single misstep and youll be lugging 4″ the rest of the game as your opponent runs circles around you. but if you can position right, its an immovable object

Senshi: Skaven’s Moulder lists are currently among the top-performing armies. Here we have an example of the archetype, with a few tweaks made by Gabriel Cobaugh to adapt after the latest battlescroll (which left Skaven almost untouched). With this version, Gabriel secured 1st place at the Michigan GT.
For those who haven’t yet faced these mischievous rats, here’s a breakdown of how the list works.
The army revolves around two key centerpieces: the Grey Seer on Screaming Bell (the soggy one) and the Plague Priest on Plague Furnace.
The Grey Seer grants access to powerful Skaven magic: Strike Last, teleportation for heroes, or transforming the Bell into a Gnawhole. While wholly within 13″, it projects three major effects: Odd rounds: +2″ to movement Even rounds: -1 to hit for enemies End of every turn: heals D3 wounds Not bad, right?
The Plague Priest complements this by:
Reducing enemy ward saves by 1 (also wholly within 13″) Granting a 6+ ward to Plague Monks Don’t forget the Filth-Crust Prayer, which when buffed gives +1 to wound and Crit (Mortal).
Both war machines can be obscured, making them harder to target. They’re backed by a Moulder pack: 12 Rat Ogors and a Brodd Terror.
Thanks to the battle formation, all three units may gain a 5+ ward and +1 Attack. Rat Ogors get an additional attack from their warscroll and an extra rend from the Fleshmeddler Heroic Trait. With support from the Terror and the prayer, a single unit can dish out 42 attacks hitting on 3s, wounding on 2s, with -2 rend and 2 damage each, plus mortal wounds on crits. That’s a ton of damage!
The Brodd Terror stands strong on its own, with solid healing and impressive damage output. To round out the list, there are utility units that serve as screens and provide map control, using teleports and recursion via the Gnawholes.
All of this, combined with Skaven’s battle traits—especially the ability to make a normal move during the enemy hero phase—creates a tactical nightmare for opponents. And that’s how Gabriel clinched the win. Congratulations!
Kevin Lathers: Rausch taking a big 5-0 here with a slightly different take on the conventional Fyreslayer list.
While it still makes use of the Sky-Port Profiteers — who are a common inclusion in basically every army that can take them — and three magmadroths, this slots out one of those magmadroths for a Runesmiter Droth instead of a second SoG Runeson Droth. This also foregoes the usual Heroic Trait of Ash-Beard (+1 chanting on a priest or make a hero a priest) for Fiercely Competitive (if in combat with an enemy with strikes first, you get it, if they get all out attack, you get +1 hit).
The SPP RoR is a known quantity of goodness: stripping ward and reducing control is good. The infantry teleport is quite useful in a faction with very very slow infantry.
The SoG Son Droth and Father Droth are the duo of damage in Fyreslayers and a common pair to see in any list. The father provides some utility (reduce save, give additional attacks to nearby units once per game) and decent damage, while the SoG Son Droth provides an incredible hammer.
The Smiter meanwhile, is a bit more of an abnormality (outside 4+ magmadroth lists), providing a much needed mobility to a priest platform, a +1 wound buff to a nearby unit, and a great rampage (d3+3 potential mortals to higher model count units). This provides some great utility and anti-horde effects. Importantly, the +1 wound can go on the Hearthguard to take their damage up a notch.
One of each Hearthguard type in a block provides some specialization in infantry usage. The Poleaxes can be a bit more solo operators and don’t need much buffs to spike: they always have crit(mortal). But the broadaxes near a damaged hero and with the crit(mortal)/+1 rend rune become an incredibly potent hammer. This causes opponents to have a dilemma: clear the infantry that can hurt me or clear the magmadroth that can, but if the magmadroth lives I’m done for, if the infantry live, I’m still done for. They get a little baby foot runeson escort to help provide wards and give a potential +1 charge bubble (if he makes a charge).
Fiercely Competitive on the Runeson Droth stands out as the oddest inclusion, but it brings fantastic play into armies like KO, FEC, StD, and others who may get Strikes First on the Fyreslayers’ turn and this allows the droth to keep priority of combat.
These pieces slot to together to form a somewhat unique list with high utility baked in to be a true “all-comers” list type: never leaning too hard into any one aspect of the army and able to rack up points.
This list puts opponents into situations with tough situations while racking up points. It might not table people as hard as some higher damage Fyreslayers lists, but it will still can, especially if the opponent makes the wrong choices in those tough times.
Overall a great list and great showing from Rausch.
Daughters of Khaine | Scáthcoven General’s Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 2 Spell Lore – Lore of Shadows Prayer Lore – Prayers of the Khainite Cult Manifestation Lore – Forbidden Power (20 Points) Battle Tactics Cards: Restless Energy and Scouting Force
Luis Mendoza: Interesting list what Jack’s built, congratulations! The list is breaking the stereotype and basing the core on a Melusai army, with low drops under Scáthcoven, this Battle formation allows to give strike first to any Melusai or Khinerai units if their charge is 8+.
The General is the SoG Bloodwrack Shrine, a wizard level 2 with a powerful shooting, able to reroll failed hits if her Wracking Gaze ability is sucessful; is the bearer of 2 enhancements, the first one to teleport during your movement phase – once per battle – if she’s not in combat, to any part on the field and beyond 9″ of enemy units and the second is Zealous Orator to add 3 dice in Rally command if the unit is wholly within 12″ of her. The general is also the responsible to improve the offensive game with Mindrazor and Steed of shadows, and add flavour with Forbidden Power – we will talk later of this -. The block of heroic units is complete with the Melusai Ironscale, the support hero that creates a better synergy with the Blood Sisters rerolling charge rolls if the units are wholly within 12″, also increasing in +1 attack characteristic in a non-Hero melusai unit within combat range and able fighting immediately after she does.
About non heroic units, plenty list of reinforced units of Blood Sisters, a pure melee unit that can assign Strike Last on an enemy unit in combat with them rolling a dice and exceeding the target’s health characteristic – valuable at the defense too -, the output damage of this unit includes Crits with mortal wounds, totally buffed can create up to 31 attacks with Rend -2 and Damage 3 if Mindrazor is on them. About supporting shooting infantry, one unit of Blood stalkers to soften units at 18″, besides 1 Shadowstalker unit and 1 of Heartrenders to increase board presence.
About manifestation lore, forbbiden power can help also with movility, using the Soulscream bridge, and frequently used to complicate enemy charges; Horrorghast adding a bit more of shooting to this list with the small chance to nullify commands on a damaged enemy unit.
The list is being completed with Restless Energy and Scouting force tactics, something synergic due to the type and quantity of units, requiring control of terrain features and objectives as well as board presence as the game progresses.
Congrats again to Jack!

GT Win Rates
These are the first stats we’ve done in a while and things are looking a bit different despite it being very early days. As always those factions in bold should be taken with salt, as we feel there’s possibly not enough data there.
Estimated Win Rates if the Player Skill Levels were Equal
That’s a mouthful of title isn’t it!?
Essentially, what I’m trying to do here is work out what the win rates would be if the skill levels of all the players were the same (Yes, I realise this is nearly impossible to calculate – But I’m playing around here).
How it works is by calculating the average Elo of all the players that have had matches since the September battlescroll dropped. This worked out as 410.0. I then calculated how much difference there was between a factions average Elo shown in our original win rate graph to this overall average. The difference between these two figures was then turned into a percentage difference over/under the 410.0 elo. I then increased or decreased their win rate by this percentage (But this isn’t as simple as deducting or adding the percentage different to the win rate – you have to work out for instance what 4% may be of say 53% and then apply that. For Example – 10% of 40% is 4%)
Battle Formation GT Win Rates
This data is calculated in the same way as the win rates for factions. This only shows data for subfactions that have reached 100 games played since the battlescroll dropped.
Faction Popularity (Broken Down by Player Elo Rating)
This is perhaps the most interesting chart to me personally. Here you can see the spread of the player skill levels for each faction according to our Elo rating system (updated each week in line with the Age of Sigmar stats).
The dark blue shows the really elite players of 700+ Elo. Interestingly, they don’t seem to give a damn about which faction is performing well in the meta and rely on their own skill (as they should!). Neither to 600-699 rated players. Where we start to see the swell in players possibly chasing the factions with more favourable rules is in players rated less than 600 Elo.
To make it a bit easier to see the effect of higher skilled players, I’ve added the below chart this week which breaks down each factions player base as a percentage.
Elite and Rookie Players by Faction
The blue section shows the percentage of a factions players which have an Elo rating of 500 or greater. While the Orange shows the number of new players to the faction where they have yet to attend a tournament (based on our database history).
The Fabien Chart
Fabien Barbusse is a top player in the AoS scene and a member of the Woehammer Discord who is one of many who points out any mistakes in the charts before we publish them. He stated he felt the most valuable chart would be a version of the one above, which shows the % of 4+ win results in a 5 game event compared to the other results.
% of Players with a Positive GT Result
Ideally you would want 50% of the players having a positive results for a truly balanced game system.
Consecutive Wins
This chart shows firstly the % of players with a negative result from 5 games at GT’s or GT+ in purple for each faction.
Dark blue shows the percentage of players who achieved 5 wins from 5 in the first five rounds of a GT or GT+.
Orange shows the players who achieved four wins from the first four rounds of a GT or GT+ but were unable to achieve the full house and lost their round 5 match.
Green shows the players who achieved three wins from three wins but were unable to win in their fourth round match.
Light blue shows all other players aside from those shown in the first three categories, who were able to achieve a positive result at a GT or GT+ i.e. 3 or more wins.
Battle Tactic Win Rates
This table shows the most popular battle tactic pairings for each faction.
Battleplan Win Rates
For those of you who are counted among our legendary Patreons, you can download the stats database below which now includes warscroll win rates and lists.
On top of this there is some added extras in the form of a faction dive into Seraphon.

The Top Three AoS Lists
Sylvaneth | Lords of the Clan General’s Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 4 Spell Lore – Lore of the Deepwood Manifestation Lore – Primal Energy (20 Points) Battle Tactics Cards: Master The Paths and Restless Energy
General’s Regiment Alarielle the Everqueen (680) • General
Regiment 2 Branchwych (110) • Warsinger • Acorn of the Ages Kurnoth Hunters with Kurnoth Scythes (380) • Reinforced
Regiment 3 Belthanos, First Thorn of Kurnoth (350)
Faction Terrain Awakened Wyldwood
Dr Lupo: Fred’s Sylvaneth army list is a classic example of the “monster mash” approach, featuring powerful units like Alarielle, Belthanos, and Drycha, along with several supporting models. Both Alarielle and Belthanos are designed to operate on the flanks, where they can crush enemy units and apply significant pressure. This strategy allows Fred to single out and focus on one unit with the support of Alarielle and Belthanos, powering through with one the other can utilize Strike & Fade, creating multiple threats for the opponent to manage.
One of the standout features of Fred’s list is the block of Kurnoth Hunters with Scythes, backed up by the Branchwych and Drycha. This combination brings several tactical advantages to the table. Drycha and the Branchwych can force a charging enemy unit to fight last and reduce the length of enemy charges, disrupting aggressive plays and protecting key assets. The Kurnoth Hunters with Scythes also have anti-charge capabilities, making them devastating on the counterattack. With recent points reductions, Kurnoth Hunters have become more accessible, allowing them to effectively hold flanks and objectives while the faster units create chaos elsewhere.
Recent Battlescroll updates have been a big win for Sylvaneth players. Points reductions and subtle tweaks have made units like Kurnoth Hunters, Drycha, and some other units more attractive than ever. As a result, I believe Sylvaneth armies are expected to become more common at competitive events.
Overall, Fred’s monster mash is a fantastic showcase of what Sylvaneth can do in the current meta. The list offers power, flexibility, and a toolkit full of surprises. If you’re looking for inspiration for your next list or just want to see what the forest spirits are capable of, this is a great place to start.
Flesh-eater Courts Impassioned Serfs General’s Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 3 Spell Lore – Lore of Madness Prayer Lore – Rites of Delusion Manifestation Lore – Aetherwrought Machineries Battle Tactics Cards: Master the Paths and Restless Energy
Regiment 2 Abhorrant Ghoul King on Royal Terrorgheist (350) • Stronger in Madness • Savage Abomination Royal Zombie Dragon (240)
Faction Terrain Charnel Throne (10 Points)
Boggy: The deluded nobility of the Flesh-eater Courts rise again! This Impassioned Serfs list leans into the new General’s Handbook 2025-26 design space and showcases the best of what the updated FEC battletome has to offer — layered defensive tricks, reliable scoring, and a flexible hammer-and-anvil core that plays the mission exceptionally well.
With three drops, this army sits comfortably in the mid-drop category, allowing it to react or dictate tempo depending on the opponent. It’s built around Ushoran, Mortarch of Delusion, and two big reinforced bricks of Cryptguard backed by Crypt Horrors, supported by the versatile Abhorrant Cardinal and a Ghoul King on Terrorgheist with the ever-popular Stronger in Madness and Savage Abomination loadout.
The backbone of the list revolves around efficient battle tactic play. The Flesh-eater Courts battle tactics cards — Master the Paths and Restless Energy — pair perfectly with this composition. The Royal Zombie Dragon often acts as the scoring piece for Restless Energy, taking advantage of the D6 post-setup move to pressure early objectives or reposition for control.
The Cardinal, stationed near the Charnel Throne, becomes a key support piece. With Charnel Vestments granting +2 to chant, he reliably shuts down wards and positive save modifiers — crucial utility in a meta packed with defensive stacking.
Ushoran himself takes centre stage (as any self-respecting Mortarch should), directing the court with his auras and command abilities. The Cryptguard and Horrors then do the real heavy lifting. Players often underestimate these units, but in this configuration they’re tougher than they look.
Each reinforced block of Cryptguard acts as a semi-independent fortress. They combine the Fight-First mechanic (once per turn) with the army’s battle formation ability that prevents pile-ins for 1 CP — meaning one unit fights first while the other locks the enemy in place. This synergy effectively forms an ultimate defensive wall, letting the Court grind opponents down rather than being swept away.
The Ghoul King on Royal Terrorgheist remains the army’s mobile hammer. With Stronger in Madness and Savage Abomination, it can hit hard and still soak a surprising amount of punishment. Combined with Ushoran’s support, the duo dominates the centre of the board and punishes anything that overextends.
The Royal Zombie Dragon plays a more utilitarian role: a fast, durable scoring piece that supports battle tactics, provides presence where needed, and leverages the army’s mobility tricks.
This list thrives when it’s allowed to control tempo. It rewards patient play, smart use of CP, and careful positioning of its layered defensive tools. Its biggest strength lies in its ability to trade well and outscore opponents on battle tactics.
So far, it’s performed impressively — taking 2nd place at the Bread or Dead tournament and proving that Flesh-eater Courts are far from brainless beasts. In the hands of a savvy general, these “Impassioned Serfs” are disciplined, deliberate, and surprisingly hard to kill.
This list exemplifies the current FEC meta — leveraging resilient bodies, strong centre-board control, and tactical flexibility. While it hasn’t yet faced heavy shooting armies, its ability to lock down melee engagements and reliably score keeps it firmly in competitive contention.
A well-balanced blend of madness and method — exactly what the Flesh-eater Courts should be.

The Top Three AoS Lists
Cities of Sigmar Ironweld Guild Army General’s Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 4 Spell Lore – Spells of the Collegiate Arcane Manifestation Lore – Krondspine Incarnate (20 Points) Battle Tactic Cards: Intercept and Recover, Master The Paths
General’s Regiment Tahlia Vedra, Lioness of the Parch (280) • General Ironweld Great Cannon (100) Ironweld Great Cannon (100) Steam Tank Commander (250) • Glimmering • Grizzled Veteran
Regiment 2 Freeguild Marshal on Griffon (230) Freeguild Fusiliers (110) Fusil-Major on Ogor Warhulk (140) Wildercorps Hunters (100)
Regiment 3 Alchemite Warforger (110)
Senshi: Even after all the nerfs received in the Battlescroll, Cities of Sigmar remains a versatile toolbox, and Peter Hricák proved it by winning the End Times Grand Tournament with the army. Let’s take a look at how he adapted his list after the balance changes.
First of all, the previously auto-included Zenestra has been replaced by Tahlia Vedra. This hero can duplicate Official Orders, and once per battle, she can grant up to three units a 5+ Ward and +1 to Wound—extremely useful when paired with the Cavaliers. These units are led by a Cavalier-Marshal, who gives them Strike First on the charge.
The Marshal on Griffon fits perfectly in the role of a flanker, offering great mobility and boasting 15 wounds with a 4+ save.
The second part of the list is built around artillery: two Great Cannons, still priced at 100 points each, are supported by the Fusil-Major to boost their power. Additionally, the Battle Formation extends their shooting range. If that’s not enough firepower, we also have the Steam Tank Commander, equipped with Glimmering (allowing re-rolls for hit, wound, or save rolls) and Grizzled Veteran (he can only be hit on a 4+!). With a 2+ save, this mobile fortress is a threat on its own.
Finally, the list is rounded out with some cheap but effective screens and a wizard who, among other things, can summon the Krondspine—another disruptive element on the battlefield that serves both as a screen and a threat.
Congratulations to Peter Hricák! This is certainly not the end for Cities of Sigmar.
Daughters of Khaine Arena Veterans (20 Points) General’s Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 3 Spell Lore – Lore of Shadows Prayer Lore – Prayers of the Khainite Cult Manifestation Lore – Manifestations of Khaine Battle Tactic Cards: Intercept and Recover, Wrathful Cycles
General’s Regiment Morathi-Khaine (760) • General The Shadow Queen (0)
Regiment 1 Krethusa the Croneseer (160)
Regiment 2 Slaughter Queen on Cauldron of Blood (330) • Zealous Orator • Khainite Pendant Sisters of Slaughter with Bladed Bucklers (240) • Reinforced Sisters of Slaughter with Bladed Bucklers (240) • Reinforced Witch Aelves with Paired Sciansá (240) • Reinforced
Idoneth Deepkin Akhelian Beastmasters (20 Points) General’s Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 1 Spell Lore – Lore of the Deeps Manifestation Lore – Lore of the Abyss Battle Tactic Cards: Restless Energy, Intercept and Recover
General’s Regiment Eidolon of Mathlann, Aspect of the Sea (360) • General • Form of the Fangmora – (20) Points • Dritchleech Akhelian Leviadon (470) Akhelian Leviadon (470) Akhelian Morrsarr Guard (340) • Reinforced Akhelian Morrsarr Guard (340) • Reinforced
JoGaray: This is getting out of hand, now there are two Leviadons!
This list echoes what Idoneth list building was like at the end of the previous season, and it’s all about the core of the Aspect of the Sea, Eels, and Leviadon; alongside the Akhelian Beastmasters for +1 to hit from Companion weapons. Any 1 drop list is threatening if piloted by a strong player, and Pavel leverages that control of priority alongside Idoneth’s crazy speed, threatening a well-placed double turn that can cripple most armies.
You’re also going to be incredibly frustrated trying to rush into this army as there are many sources of buffs and debuffs that can make this list surprisingly resilient. There’s 5+ Ward from the Leviadon, -1 hit from the Tides, +1 to Save from the Shipwreck, and you can only hit the Eidolon with 4+ due to the Form of Fangmora. Not to mention that the cavalry also have sustained healing coming from Eidolon’s Dritchleech enhancement.
I think a quiet genius of this list is that it covers a lot of unit types. There’s anti-monster from the Leviadon, anti-cavalry from the Morrsarr Guard, and anti-infantry answers coming from the impact hits of the aforementioned units. It’s a good spread and a good list building philosophy when trying to place in a singles tournament.
Congratulations to Pavel for running the double-Leviadon into the podium!

The Top Three AoS Lists
Flesh-eater Courts | Royal Menagerie General’s Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 2 Spell Lore – Lore of Madness Manifestation Lore – Aetherwrought Machineries Battle Tactics Cards: Intercept and Recover and Restless Energy
General’s Regiment Abhorrant Ghoul King on Royal Terrorgheist (360) • General • Revered Monstrosity • The Grisly Pennant • Stronger in Madness Royal Terrorgheist (230) Royal Terrorgheist (230) Royal Terrorgheist (230) Royal Terrorgheist (230)
Regiment 1 Abhorrant Ghoul King on Royal Zombie Dragon (350) High Falconer Felgryn (120) Royal Zombie Dragon (240)
Faction Terrain Charnel Throne (10)
Senshi: I have to congratulate Dylan Gill for his 1st place finish at River City Rumble with this monstrous list. But what are the keys to victory with such a particular setup? Let’s take a look.
First and foremost, the centerpiece of the list is the Abhorrant Ghoul King on Royal Terrorgheist and its powerful trait combination. With Stronger in Madness, he can ignore all weapon abilities in combat, and thanks to The Grisly Pennant, he can impose a -1 to hit on an enemy unit in melee. That same artefact also grants other friendly units +1 to hit against the targeted enemy. The warscroll ability Ferocious Hunger and the monstrous trait Revered Monstrosity give the Ghoul King and other friendly monsters +1 to hit with their companion weapons.
All of this, combined with their own warscroll ability, the Delusion, and the Feeding Frenzy battle trait—which provides a flurry of extra attacks—creates the massive damage output this list brings to the battlefield.
The Abhorrant Ghoul King on Royal Zombie Dragon, meanwhile, offers the mobility needed to spread that damage quickly, granting Run and Charge to all monsters wholly within 12″.
Finally, High Falconer Felgryn adds another useful Delusion: subtracting 10 from the control scores of enemy units engaged in combat with friendly monsters. Additionally, you can garrison the Charnel Throne to add 1d6″ to the Royal Zombie Dragon’s teleport set-up.
The Manifestation Lore Aetherwrought Machineries is a logical pick, especially when Chronomantic Cogs subtract 1 from hit rolls against both Abhorrant Ghoul Kings. The other manifestations are also highly reliable.
Once again, congratulations on the victory and on crafting such a tech-heavy list!
Kharadron Overlords | Pioneers and Scavengers General’s Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 3 Battle Tactics Cards: Attuned to Ghyran and Master The Paths
General’s Regiment Endrinmaster with Endrinharness (150) • General Arkanaut Company (180) • Reinforced Arkanaut Ironclad (460)
Fittsy: This is a variant on one of the pretty common lists styles for KO bringing both the big ships but choosing to forgo the potential big first turn for a list that can fight through all 5 turns effectively We see a few of the elements kept who have had points increases (Endrinmaster, Soggy Gunhauler, Balloon fellas). They went up because they were good and they’re still good even if they are a bit more expensive. The Soggy Gunhauler is a good piece still for lists like this with the potential to drop down from the skies, shoot, move d6, and then maybe even charge to potentially take an objective in the backfield, tag, or even threaten a little buff hero.
The Ironclad happily wanders around using the buffs from the Admiral and the retreat and shoot from the Endrinmaster.
We’ve got two interesting choices in the Battle Formation, which is the 6+ ward for the 1 unit of Vongrim and Attuned to Ghyran, which we don’t see often for KO. I’ve been thinking about taking it myself too to try out… If the opponent moves into the middle, that can set up a nice turn for the KO player, otherwise with the clad, 2 heroes, and Arkanauts it can be a good position to move up to and hold.
This list is a good pivot and an excellent performance with the new battlescroll!
Soulblight Gravelords Deathmarch General’s Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 4 Spell Lore – Lore of Undeath Manifestation Lore – Manifestations of the Grave Battle Tactic Cards: Master The Paths, Scouting Force
General’s Regiment Mannfred von Carstein, Mortarch of Night (450) • General Vargheists (120) Vargheists (120)
Regiment 2 Wight King (90) Barrow Guard (300) • Reinforced
Regiment 3 Wight Lord on Skeletal Steed (130) • Immortal Ego • Amulet of Graves Barrow Knights (210)
Faction Terrain Cursed Sepulchre
Craig Smith: The first thing I noted from Andrew’s fantastic list that he piloted to a superb 4-1 for a 3rd place finish was that it was a Soulblight list that wasn’t using Bacchanal of Blood! A rare sight, some might say, but secretly I’ve been longing to see a Deathmarch list do well, and now we have it. With wins against Maggotkin (Plague Cyst), FEC (Knightly Echelon), a Soulblight mirror but into Bacchanal, and Khorne (Murderhost), Andrew only ended up losing out to FEC (Royal Menagerie).
So let’s break down what makes the list. To start with there’s the mortals it dishes out – Barrow Guard, Wight Kings, Wight Lord on Steed, and the Barrow Knights all dish them. Two reinforced bricks of Barrow Guard, both accompanied by a Wight King for the 4+/5+ saves, will do an impressive amount of damage on the charge – 41 attacks hitting on 2’s (if chained after the WK), wounding on 3’s with rend 2 damage 1 and with crit mortals. No need for All Out Attack here, and there’s 2 units of them. Although it’s only rend 2 against smaller units, a block of 20 has a good change of being bigger than most things it’s going to face in those armies. So that’s base each turn, then if you can keep Mannfred alive long enough to proc his Sword of Unholy Power, he’s giving those Barrow Guard an extra attach EACH, if they stay within 12” of him. 61 attacks on that profile – bonkers! Maybe even 122 if you can keep both blocks with him up the centre. There’s your hammers right there.
In this formation, I’d see the Vargheists as scoring units, either tactics or objectives, or stick Intercept & Recover tokens on them and fly them all over the place away from the enemy. They can do some work in a pinch, but unreinforced and without the benefit of the +1 to wound on the charge from Bacchanal, I’d probably be keeping them out of combat, largely.
The Barrow Knights here with the mounted Wight Lord are give you an excellent anvil unit and with decent base sizes, they can block or tie up a reasonably sized unit with their 4+/5+ saves and ability to return 1 model per turn at the end of any turn, it can take a lot to chew through them. Not only that but on the initial charge they’re on +1 damage and with 11 attacks on 4+, 3+ rend 1 (unlikely they’ll outnumber whatever they go into so no rend 2), damage 2 and crit mortals, they can hurt. They’d technically benefit from Manfred’s +1 attack as well, but I know I’d rather be looking for that on the Barrow Guard. Immortal Ego is a smart choice for the mounted Wight Lord – being able to re-roll 1 hit and 1 wound roll is nice, but particularly getting to roll 1 save roll could be the difference that stops him from dying, thereby maintaining the 5+ ward for both him and the knights.
I’ve often considered msu Deathrattle Skeletons and never found the points for them but at 90 points now, and with 5 coming back once they die, they can be simple screens, or pop them out on an objective miles away from your opponents after they’ve died, and they’re incredibly annoying to deal with for very little points. If the worst came to the worst, you could always use a Wight Lord to give one of them crit 2 hits on a 3+, probably unlikely you’ll have them anywhere near each other though!
All in all, a really good showing from Andrew. Big congrats, and here’s hoping we see more Deathmarch!
