It’s the day we’ve all been waiting for! The day when we spend the cash we’ve been putting aside to buy Christmas presents for our loved ones on Plastic crack instead!
I had the opportunity to play through the first scenario earlier this week, and I’ve got to say it’s refreshing from Cursed City.
Two of us, who didn’t know how to play, had managed to set up, play the game, and finish the scenario in just 40 minutes.
The book of maps is a massive benefit to the tiles you get in Cursed City, and the models are beautiful.

If you’re not sure about forking out the £160 for 49 models, you could instead use our affiliate link to buy it through Element Games instead. You’ll get it at £136 instead, and Woehammer will receive a little kickback as well!

Shawn Freed: “A vintage Thunderquake list! This list combines resiliency, ranged pressure, and swingy combat potential. Right off the bat, the formation gives all these monsters +2 wounds, putting most of them at 16, bastiladon at 14. This sits behind 4+ and 2+ saves respectively! Then the Engine of the Gods has the ability to heal D3 in a bubble every turn, with the Carnosaur and Troglodon healing an additional D3. Lore of Primal Jungles also has a healing spell that gets better with multi wound models. Since monsters still benefit from cover, this list can be incredibly hard to bring down.
The list also has a lot of ranged output, with over 40 low quality shots and 9+3d6 damage 2 attacks. All of this can be unleashed as they close the gap, which with Beastmaster handing out +2 to move, has these dinos moving surprisingly fast. Then when they get to combat, 6 of these monsters can get to damage 3!
Drekki’s Privateers add on to the ranged pressure, while providing a deepstrike and more reliable charging threat to punish weak flanks. Restless Energy fits in with the game plan, as the stampede marches into your territory with high control values, making it all but impossible to prevent steps 1 and 2 of this tactic. Taking a slow first turn can also set up for a comfortable underdog position to make Wrathful Cycles steps 1 and 2 achievable while not putting themselves too far behind.
A thoughtful and unique list, that appears to be a big damage check with 128 wounds on the big bodies, and plenty of healing and high saves. However, this list also has a surprisingly high damage output at both range and melee!”

The Top Three AoS Lists
Lumineth Realm-lords Alarith Temple General’s Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 3 Spell Lore – Lore of Hysh Manifestation Lore – Manifestations of Hysh Battle Tactic Cards: Master The Paths, Scouting Force
General’s Regiment Avalenor, The Stoneheart King (410) • General Alarith Stoneguard (240) • Reinforced Alarith Stoneguard (240) • Reinforced Scourge of Ghyran The Light of Eltharion (270)
Regiment 1 Sevireth, Lord of the Seventh Wind (340) Hurakan Windchargers (170) Hurakan Windchargers (170)
Eduardo Rodriguez: This lumineth list is very interesting as it is very different to the popular scinari/bladelords lists that we have been seeing lately.
The subfaction ability will reduce the rend on all the weapons that target the big cow and the stoneguards, and the cow can reduce the rend on one other unit as well in the combat phase. Also, there are two ways for these units to get a 5+ ward save, by casting protection of hysh from inside the shrine, or when the stoneguard are on a controlled objective. This makes this block of models very hard to deal with, as the stoneguard can also get an extra attack from the cow, and the stonemage can increase their rend on a 3+. Charging into this block is very dangerous and the opponent should expect to get slapped back very hard, also a countercasting the rune of petrification can really mess your plan if you get your hammers to strike last.
To help with the lack of mobility of this list the 3 hurakan units surely were running around, shooting flanking units, and stealing away the objectives.
Also, as in all the other lists we can see that the Soggy Light of Eltharion is threatening to engage heroes or monsters, it is interesting that this list doesn’t have a Scinari Enlightener which can make him etheral, but with all the dangerous and durable alarith block, opponents surely had a hard time killing this sneaky deadly hero, which can go from obscuring into obscuring until it reaches its target.
An interesting choice is the battle tactic scouting force, as the stoneguard haven’t got high mobility, but with flawless commander (+2 to the move characteristic of infantry units) and speed of hysh (+4 to the movement characteristic) the scouting stoneguard could go for the tactics. We also have the two units of windchargers that help with this purpose, as they can retreat and shoot/charge without getting mortal wounds, and even move 2d6 after this.
In general I believe that this list will be very good at controlling the center with the alarith units while flanking opponents with the windchargers, Eltharion and Sevireth which will also try to snipe out other threats.
Maggotkin of Nurgle Tallyband of Nurgle General’s Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 3 Spell Lore – Lore of Malignance Manifestation Lore – Aetherwrought Machineries Battle Tactics Cards: Intercept and Recover and Restless Energy
Regiment 1 Lord of Afflictions (170) Pusgoyle Blightlords (420) • Reinforced Pusgoyle Blightlords (210) Pusgoyle Blightlords (210)
Regiments of Renown Godmarked Ascendant (260) Daemon Prince • Wings • Corpulent Avalanche • Rustfang
Faction Terrain Feculent Gnarlmaw
Raymond Lane: This list is very interesting, getting away from the classic Scourge Rotigus in favor of more mobility, and with this map pack i can’t blame them. Most of these maps are spread out a bit and being more mobile can be beneficial.
8 flies with the points drop and lord of affliction works nicely together with the daemon prince as more of a scalpel (sp?) to deal with hero threats or killing small heroes with Avalanche is something that has been popular with Nurgle for awhile, but adding in the extra flies means instead of a mobile solo op, its more of a mobile fotress while Bloab and the reinforced kings hold down a point in the middle of the map or at home.
Aetherwrought it nice for the reroll charge and the pendulem to attempt some area denial. Not a bad list by any means, refreshing to see something that isnt 30 blight kings.
Sons of Behemat Breaker Tribe General’s Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 2 Battle Tactic Cards: Intercept and Recover, Restless Energy

Lumineth Realm-lords Scinari Council (10 Points) General’s Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 5 Spell Lore – Lore of Prismatic Resonance (10 Points) Manifestation Lore – Manifestations of Hysh Battle Tactics Cards: Intercept and Recover and Master The Paths

Regiment 4 Scourge of Ghyran The Light of Eltharion (270)
Faction Terrain Shrine Luminor (20)
Stefano: First of all, thank you for the opportunity to speak on this platform. I’m truly happy and honored!
I knew this tournament would feature some of the best Italian players, with a metagame tending toward “monstrous,” and what better counterplay than an elvish -1 hit? Haha, jokes aside, I chose to bring this list for its incredible versatility. It’s a very solid Herohammer based on a castle build that’s extremely difficult to remove, solid melee damage, and DMG chips in the heroic and shooting phases.
While Eltharion played the dirty trick of disrupting enemy lines or threatening counter charges when I chose to keep him defensive, Sevireth was the army’s Swiss Army Knife: 18″ movement, the chance to spike shooting damage, his fantastic rampage, and tactical power throughs to steal objectives or retreat behind defensive lines to threaten cover fire again in the enemy’s phase—definitely my MVP for the tournament.
Honorable mention for the Ydrilans: after the points nerf in the last battlescroll, I started using them in place of the regiment of renown Callis & Toll, and I have to say they were a truly excellent replacement! They’re certainly less durable, but their constant teleport and the ability to perform a 2D6 movement in combat were definitely mind-blowing!
Fyreslayers Scales of Vulcatrix (10 Points) General’s Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 5 Prayer Lore – Vulkyn Gifts Manifestation Lore – Magmic Invocations Battle Tactic Cards: Master The Paths, Intercept and Recover
General’s Regiment Auric Runefather on Magmadroth (320) • General Vulkyn Flameseekers (160) Vulkyn Flameseekers (160) Vulkyn Flameseekers (160)
Regiment 1 Scourge of Ghyran Auric Runeson on Magmadroth (330) • Fiercely Competitive • Droth-helm – (10) Points
Regiment 2 Scourge of Ghyran Auric Runeson on Magmadroth (320) • Incandescent Blaze
Regiment 3 Scourge of Ghyran Auric Runeson on Magmadroth (320)
Regiment 4 Auric Runemaster (180)
Faction Terrain Magmic Battleforge
Ambrogio: Classic Magmadroth-based list. 1 runefather to boost 3 Ghyran sons. I preferred to take “Fiercely Competitive” instead of “Ash-Beard” to counter Durthu, Belakor rampage and Vhordrai’s Spell, all common monsters in italian meta. Incandescent Blaze is perfect to sniper heroes when they get close to boost enemy units. 3 Flamekeeper units are also good thanks to their 3+ to hit and 3 atk each, when they atk in combo with Runefather each unit can do 37 atk with up to rend 4 against monsters! lovely.
Nighthaunt Death Stalkers General’s Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 3 Spell Lore – Lore of the Underworlds Manifestation Lore – Infernal Sorceries Battle Tactic Cards: Attuned to Ghyran, Scouting Force
General’s Regiment Lady Olynder, Mortarch of Grief (300) • General Myrmourn Banshees (180) • Reinforced Pyregheists (150) Pyregheists (150)
Regiment 1 Knight of Shrouds (120) • Deathly Possessor • Lightshard of the Harvest Moon – (20) Points Myrmourn Banshees (180) • Reinforced Myrmourn Banshees (180) • Reinforced Pyregheists (150)
Regiment 2 Scourge of Ghyran Kurdoss Valentian, the Craven King (200) Chainghasts (90) Pyregheists (150) Pyregheists (150)
Faction Terrain Nexus of Grief
Enrico: The list was designed to address as many situations as possible. It ensures a strong presence on objectives thanks to the use of five Pyregheist units, but at the same time manages to find sources of damage in the three reinforced Banshee units and the Ghyran Kurdoss.
Scouting Force and Attuned to Ghyran are two tactics cards that work very well with the chosen subfaction and army. The frequently used “Master the Paths” and “Intercept and Recover” tactic combo is easily circumvented by hiding the heroes behind the mass of Ghosts.

Faction Win Rates over the Last 4 Weeks
This covers the period from 25th October to 16th November 2025.
Estimated Win Rates if the Player Skill Levels were Equal
That’s a mouthful of title isn’t it!?
Essentially, what I’m trying to do here is work out what the win rates would be if the skill levels of all the players were the same (Yes, I realise this is nearly impossible to calculate – But I’m playing around here).
How it works is by calculating the average Elo of all the players that have had matches since the September battlescroll dropped. This worked out as 435.4. I then calculated how much difference there was between a factions average Elo shown in our original win rate graph to this overall average. The difference between these two figures was then turned into a percentage difference over/under the 435.4 elo. I then increased or decreased their win rate by this percentage (But this isn’t as simple as deducting or adding the percentage different to the win rate – you have to work out for instance what 4% may be of say 53% and then apply that. For Example – 10% of 40% is 4%)
Battle Formation GT Win Rates
This data is calculated in the same way as the win rates for factions. This only shows data for subfactions that have reached 100 games played since the battlescroll dropped.
Faction Popularity (Broken Down by Player Elo Rating)
This is perhaps the most interesting chart to me personally. Here you can see the spread of the player skill levels for each faction according to our Elo rating system (updated each week in line with the Age of Sigmar stats).
The dark blue shows the really elite players of 700+ Elo. Interestingly, they don’t seem to give a damn about which faction is performing well in the meta and rely on their own skill (as they should!). Neither to 600-699 rated players. Where we start to see the swell in players possibly chasing the factions with more favourable rules is in players rated less than 600 Elo.
To make it a bit easier to see the effect of higher skilled players, I’ve added the below chart this week which breaks down each factions player base as a percentage.
Elite and Rookie Players by Faction
The blue section shows the percentage of a factions players which have an Elo rating of 500 or greater. While the Orange shows the number of new players to the faction where they have yet to attend a tournament (based on our database history).
The Fabien Chart
Fabien Barbusse is a top player in the AoS scene and a member of the Woehammer Discord who is one of many who points out any mistakes in the charts before we publish them. He stated he felt the most valuable chart would be a version of the one above, which shows the % of 4+ win results in a 5 game event compared to the other results.
% of Players with a Positive GT Result
Ideally you would want 50% of the players having a positive results for a truly balanced game system.
Consecutive Wins
This chart shows firstly the % of players with a negative result from 5 games at GT’s or GT+ in purple for each faction.
Dark blue shows the percentage of players who achieved 5 wins from 5 in the first five rounds of a GT or GT+.
Orange shows the players who achieved four wins from the first four rounds of a GT or GT+ but were unable to achieve the full house and lost their round 5 match.
Green shows the players who achieved three wins from three wins but were unable to win in their fourth round match.
Light blue shows all other players aside from those shown in the first three categories, who were able to achieve a positive result at a GT or GT+ i.e. 3 or more wins.
Battle Tactic Win Rates
This table shows the most popular battle tactic pairings for each faction.
Battleplan Win Rates
For those of you who are counted among our legendary Patreons, you can download the stats database below which now includes warscroll win rates and lists.
On top of this there is some added extras in the form of a faction dive into Seraphon.

Regiment 1 Bloodthirster of Unfettered Fury (390)
Regiment 2 Bloodthirster of Insensate Rage (410)
Regiment 3 Bloodthirster of Insensate Rage (410)
Regiment 4 Bloodthirster of Unfettered Fury (390)
Luis Mendoza: Congrats to David! This 4 – 1 starts showing hope in the BoK options in the META gaming. This roster is based on AoR The Baleful Lords, including in the list Monster Hero Daemons only, 5 in fact since the last Battlescroll update. The AoR synergy between Baleful Lords and all the traits included are so juicy, offering you 2 additional Rampage abilities besides to the chance getting a replacement of a Baleful Lord that was destroyed and some other sniky skills.
The general is Wrath of Khorne, our flaming Bloodthirster is the central piece, the quarterback of this team, he’s specialized to fight vs heroes, his Rampage ability and a melee profile were created to add a good amount of damage on annoying heroes; adding +1 attack characteristic in melee weapons of one visible Bloodthirsteris always pretty welcome that can combine perfectly with Unrivalled Batlelust to add also +1 attack characteristic in combat phase once per battle; and owning of Crown of the Slaughterborn, to avoid any unit within 12″ of him can’t be healed and returning models to them. As any good balanced footbal team, needs good line-breakers elements, 2 Insensate Rage BT, one of those charging with the 2 best dice of a 3D6 because Beckon the hunt from one of the UFBT, breaking the front lines specially if they are infantry. Creating a D3 Mortal Damage to any enemy unit for each roll showing crits. Then, 2 units of Unfettered Fury supporting the threatening range in charges, besides counting with a great profile fighting Monsters, supporting the defensive game reducing the damage in a selected enemy Monster’s melee profile with a -1 to hit, -1 to wound. The list is fast and hitting hard and focusing power can deal damage in the correct units in the proper moments.
And about Tactic cards, those are Master the Paths and Restless Energy, maybe the most reliable combination when your roster is so elite, allowing you to get scoring in a progressive way in parallel to the advance of your units along the game.
Once again, congrats to David!

The Top Three AoS Lists
Gloomspite Gitz Squigalanche General’s Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 4 Spell Lore – Lore of the Clammy Dank Manifestation Lore – Dank Manifestations Battle Tactic Cards: Master The Paths, Attuned to Ghyran
General’s Regiment Rabble-Rowza (120) • General Moonclan Shootas (240) • Reinforced Moonclan Stabbas (110) Scourge of Ghyran Loonsmasha Fanatics (220) • Reinforced Scourge of Ghyran Loonsmasha Fanatics (110)
Regiment 1 Droggz Da Sunchompa (170) Scourge of Ghyran Sporesplatta Fanatics (70) Snarlfang Riders (120)
Regiment 2 Squigboss with Gnasha-Squig (120) • The Clammy Hand Boingrot Bounderz (220) • Reinforced Squig Herd (200) • Reinforced Squig Herd (200) • Reinforced
Senshi: The Squigalanche is the name that best fits the Gitz army right now. Tons of bodies with teeth, claws, and rusty weapons rush against you. In this case, Michael Rausch has brought a colorful mix of goblin factions to represent that, touching almost every keyword in the book (sorry Troggoth, you had your time!).
First, we’re going to take a look at the army traits themselves. In the last battlescroll, Gloomspite Gitz benefited from a big points drop. At this moment, they can bring a huge amount of wounds to the table. Add the Faction Terrain to that, which can revive half of your key units.
Speaking of key units, we have three “hammers” in the list: the two Squig Herd units and the Boingrot Bounders. But you cannot ignore the sneaky damage that the Fanatics or even the Shootas can deal.
With the appropriate moon phase, they control objectives very easily, and the list is full of traps and tricks. The Loonsmasha can jump out and move in any charge phase, while the Squig Herds can run and charge thanks to the Rabble-Rowza. Droggz is also a fantastic piece: that -1 to hit and AoA block can give combat-based enemies a big headache. And if that’s not enough, the Sporesplatta adds a -1 attack debuff.
In summary, this is a list that is uncomfortable to deal with—even for shooting armies—as almost all the units are obscurable.
From my experience playing Gloomspite, I would use the Moonclan as both screens and objective holders, the Fanatics for battle tactics and hunting support heroes, and finally the Squigs for taking down the enemy’s threatening units. Even if you lose several units in the first rounds, they can be replaced, and no single unit is a win condition in this list. Every trade the Goblin player makes should benefit them.
I will end the review by congratulating Michael Rausch for this 1st place. Well done!

Neil Addleman: Being the person who ran this list I hope I can speak to it properly, although it is almost an exact copy of Nicolas Tassone’s list from Worlds I just moved around the regiments a little to make it a five drop.
The list is very much focused around Archaon and controlling the board while keeping him alive as long as possible. Archaon is fast, can hit hard (sometimes), eats manifestations, and can sometimes tank the world especially with the healing this list has. Between Archaon’s rampage to eat a model and heal equal to it’s health characteristic as long as he rolls over it, Lifeswarm from the Primal Energy Lore, and Radiance of Dark Glory Archaon can heal upwards of 11 damage in a single turn. And Be’lakor is one of the best support pieces for him. Deadly Trap allows him to sit behind Archaon and make charges much more unappealing due to threat of strike first, Dark Master can shut down a key hammer that threatens Archaon for a turn or two, and he can always join Archaon in combat to contribute some more damage.
Chaos Lord on Daemonic Mount carries your artefact to punch out a little more damage and turns the five knights into a proper damage piece with the +1 to wound. The Knights also carry the dread banner to shut down commands. While Eternus gives you another command shutdown and the late game resurrection to steal objectives making primary and possibly restless energy scoring easier. While Centaurion Marshal is mostly used for his speed to keep up with Archaon and heal him with the heroic trait, he can also hit harder than you’d expect because of the Battle Formation to give all non-monster heroes +2 attacks.
Then Restless Energy and Intercept and Recover round out the list as the tactics. While the list isn’t the highest output list in terms of damage, the speed and bulk of this list can score these better than you’d expect. An ideal game starts with you being given top of one, sending Archaon into something with Daemonic Speed to soften up the opponent then powering through back to your castle to heal up and get Deadly Trap protection. Then Dark Master bottom of two, hopefully be in a position where they have to play passively enough, and you use the hopeful reroll from being five regiments to force them into a double. Then finish it up by using Archaon’s Eye ability to double them back while still scoring tactics and having most if not all your army left.

From December 21, we’d started to cover a few top 3s, and at the end of Jan, I ran my first stats article covering those events. Little did I know how popular this would become!
