VOTE – Stormcast Scheme for Stormbringer

I’ve had many responses to my question on whether I should follow the Magazine steps or create my own using an original scheme. The opinion was unanimous in that I should create a guide for an original scheme.

Therefore I have come up with some designs below. These aren’t all original and one or two are other GW stormhost, but I thought I would include these in case people wanted a guide on those.

Below are all the schemes followed by a poll at the end.

Scheme 1 – Celestial Warbringers (GW Scheme)

Paints Used for Napoleonic French Infantry

This post is partly a reference for myself as to which colours to use (Citadel or Vallejo) when painting my Epic Battles Napoleonic French. I’ve listed colours that could be used from both systems.

All of the paints listed can be purchased from ElementGames. Why not use my referral code and get double the crystals when you purchase anything? XBJ9837

3 Tips to reduce your unpainted pile

Dave Kay from Scent of a Gamer has some fantastic tips on reducing that pile of shame. It was so good I thought I would share it here for you all to see!

While you’re there check out his other fantastic article such as his series on fantasy art.

Do you remember a time when you had a manageable number of figures to paint? I know I don’t! I started in the hobby by splurging on several hundred figures, which I then set about figuring out how to paint. More than 30 years later, I am still going. Call me Sisyphus. What I want […]

3 Tips to reduce your unpainted pile

Model Showcase – Kruleboyz Gutrippas

So I’ve completed my first unit in prep for the battle of the skies in Northampton on 26th March.

I’ve gone for an off-green skin tone to try and represent an unhealthy living for these greenskins from living in boggy marshes and swamps.

Skin

  1. Undercoat Mechanicus Standard Grey
  2. Wash with Carroburg Crimson
  3. Drybrush Fenris Grey
  4. Glaze over highlights with Moot Green.

Shields

  1. Base coat with Mechanicus Standard Grey (the whole model was based in this colour).
  2. Paint with Yriel Yellow
  3. Wash with watered down Fire dragon Bright
  4. Recess shade with Agrax Earthshade
  5. Wash the lower half of the shield with Agrax Earthshade.
  6. Wash the last quarter with Nuln Oil (watered down).
  7. Highlight extreme edges with Flash Gitz Yellow.

Next up I’m going to start painting three Boltboyz and the Swampcalla.
