Luis Mendoza: First and foremost, congratulations to Paul for his first place in this GT, and second, for preparing a list worthy of bidding farewell to the sacrosanct chamber. Paul has been a great support to those of us new to SCE, so I’m happy for his great triumph.
Analyzing his list, Sacrosanct Convocation Battle Formation reinforces the resilience of his list by bringing a dead model to a sacrosanct unit at the end of its turn. This is especially useful, having a reinforced unit of Dracolines and Castigators, thus being able to increase durability by combining it with Rally. In addition, the list counts with several options to support the mobility displaying an enviable threat area, and not just in attacks. Lord Arcanum on Gryph-charger, the General in this army is a Wizard level 1 with an ability to heal a D6 on a Sacrosanct unit that is not in combat at the end of his turn. Besides he can ‘translocate’ himself if he’s not in combat, in this way the General can be set up in hero phase with help of Relictor or Arcanum and then throwing a spell or endless spell quite near to enemy lines – or even inside if finds a gap – and then go back to any safe position on the battlefield, this synergy is a perfect match with Mirrorshield, avoiding to be targeted by any shooting attack beyond 9″, besides to support the defensive game using Envoy of the Heavens to support with a 5+ ward to any SCE unit until your next turn. Now, that we have mentioned to Knight Relictor, this priest level 1 can support the offensive with his Relic Censer ability to reduce the ward in an enemy unit. And by closing the hero section we can count on Knight Arcanum, a wizard with +1 bonus to summon manifestations, Forbidden Power in this case, we will talk later this.
About the combat units, Evocats – as we usually call the Evocators on Celestial Dracolines – are a fast unit with 10″ in movement and with a strike first if they contest an objective not under your control, ability that does not depend on rolls. Dracolines would appear to be the hammer of this list. Fortunately, they are not the only one, Castigators are elite performers in shooting attacks, and their ranged hammer function can create massive damage, especially if they land their attacks on enemy cavalry units. Priority Target can increase this efficiency. Castigators are highly functional if they reserve their Scouting Companion ability for key moments, even on counterattacks if you need to use Covering Fire.
The rest of the infantry units play an important role in dominating objectives, special mention to the damage they can inflict when combined with Special Assignment, Annihilators with a natural save of 2+, and Questors with a ward of 5+ if they are contesting a Questmarked objective.
And finally, Forbidden Power increases the mobility of both heroes and non-hero units by using Lauchon or Soulscream Bridge, this last to set up a getaway on Castigators in case they got engaged. Horrorghast supports with shooting and the ability to disable the use of commands on units that have been hit by its shooting. This list offers a high level of synergy that covers the need for movement and resilience. Congratulations again to Paul.

Roland Rivera: This Khorne list has an interesting mix of what I feel are some of Khorne’s premier options. It combines the Mortal troops and buff Heroes with the precision strike power of Bloodthirsters for a highly versatile list that can dictate engagements on the frontline and threaten opposing backfields and flanks.
To little surprise, the lynchpin of this list is Blood Warriors. These highly efficient combat troops are solid on both offense and defense, especially with the buffs available from the Aspiring Deathbringer (+1 to wound), the Bloodsecrator (+1 Attack), the Realmgore Ritualist (+1 to hit), and the Wrathmongers (+1 Attack) to push their output further. Conversely, the Bloodthirster is both a potent standalone piece (it flies 12″ and can give itself a 3D6″ charge) that does not detract from the list’s gameplan (Khornate Legion makes it so that you can activate the Bloodthirster without interfering with how you want to use your Blood Warriors).
Honestly, the only piece I find to be a bit odd in this list is Skarr Bloodwrath, and I suspect that his presence in this list may be related to points (there are only 190 points left in the list if he is taken out, which is not enough for 2 units), and the potential upside of having him generate 2 Blood Tithe points by dying, reviving via his The Slaughterborn ability, then dying again). Given the list’s success, however, who am I to judge?
