Roland Rivera: In a season where Khorne has mostly seen success on the back of its Daemon troops, it’s refreshing to see Michael Rausch remind us that the Mortals also have some juice. The lynchpin to this list are the Scourge of Aqshy Blood Warriors, who get scarier as their numbers dwindle. That combined with their 3+ save and solid combat profile makes them excellent at prevailing in long combats, which is a good ability to have in a metagame where many players are gearing up for scrums in the middle of the board. One of these units also has Scorpion Tails, which offers a potential wound debuff for even more staying power.
Khorne Mortals also have access to some quality support pieces, and many of them are in this list. Wrathmongers provide a steady bonus to the attack count of the Blood Warriors, a Bloodsecrator with Frenzied Taskmaster offers a bonus to nearby Rally rolls, extra movement to get up the board, and a once-per-game attacks bonus that you can stack wit the Wrathmongers for some real carnage, and the Realmgore Ritualist can provide a large bubble of bonuses to wound as well as grant you access to an excellent prayer lore in the Proclamations of Murder. And while you might not consider Skulltaker to be a buff piece for Khorne Mortals, his ability to get strikes-first when fighting enemy Heroes combined with the Khornate Legion ability to tag in a Mortal unit after a Daemon unit has fought can lead to scenarios where Skulltaker goes at a Hero, then drags in a unit of Blood Warriors before your opponent was ready for them.
This list is rounded out by some useful Daemon troops. Karanak and Bloodcrushers are nothing to write home about in combat, but their speed and ability to move around the board make them useful in completing Battle Tactics (particularly the first step of Burning for Vengeance), harassing enemy chaff, and grabbing lightly defended objectives. While it does have that dose of well-roundedness, this list is a specialized instrument of grinding your opponents to death, and it was quite successful in that goal.

Eduardo Rodríguez (Warhammex): This list is one of the few that skews away from the traditional Morathi archetype, which makes it particularly interesting. The centerpiece here is the Bloodwrack Shrine, which gains all the faction blessing benefits thanks to the Honoured Among Sects heroic trait. This allows it to reliably cast with a +1 bonus, present a genuine melee threat, and gain extra durability against ranged attacks—effectively replacing Morathi’s role as a reliable buffer for the snake units. Beyond that, the list demonstrates that Melusai Blood Sisters remain incredibly point-efficient and high-performing hammer units. Including a unit of Blood Stalkers allows the list to threaten enemy units with charge roll penalties (removing a charge die), while stacking chip damage alongside the Shrine’s ranged attacks. The addition of the Scourge of Aqshy Melusai Ironscale is another clever pick, allowing the player to control Places of Power to boost their Fury level and virtually guarantee a +1 Attack buff to a unit. Omitting Morathi and the Shadow Queen frees up enough points to include the Khainite Shadowstalkers, who are invaluable for scoring battle tactics, as well as the new Blood Hags, who can clear enemy screens and trigger double blessings at the end of the turn upon killing a unit. Overall, I believe this is a very compelling list archetype that could represent the future direction for Daughters of Khaine, especially as Morathi continues to rise in points. It remains a high-skill, glass-cannon army that demands precise play due to its fragility, but its damage output is undeniable.
