This is the top three AoS lists for GOLDCON 2026 that took place in Australia between the 8th and 9th of August 2026. It saw 60 players vying to be crowned champion in a 5-game tournament.

Raymond Lane (A Skaven Plays): This Maggotkin of Nurgle list is mostly a large pile of Meat on the table. They have forgone all of our tricks and tactical play in favor of putting down 176 wounds on the table, on a 5up ward.

A twist on the classic triple brick style of play we see in a lot of Nurgle list with reinforced swords acompanied by 2 other bricks of infantry. This one instead chose to use the glottkin, for an extra melee punch, and the Great Unclean one for shooting and recycling the Plaguebearers. Aetherwrought Machineries also gives good tech with the Pendulem to deny deepstrike movements/zone control, and the Cogs to give -1 to hit to the large monsters if the incoming threat is large, and the reroll on Blightkrieg as a strong threat to really force you to engage the entire army at once. A tool that i personally have used and is a great taunt.

I wasn’t there for the games but I can see this list playing out with putting -1 to wound on both plaguebearers and the swords, charging them up the sides while the rotswords take the middle while the 2 monsters hang around the middle areas to support where they are needed. This list is mainly a stat check that is daring you to crash into it, knowing that if you fail or get stuck. Their a Glottkin around the corner ready to break your hammer.

The great unclean one having a good shooting profile (although short ranged) combined with its ability to recycle the plaguebearers when they fall in the fight is an unexpected pick here, but his flexability with the revive being around himself or our tree can help with certain tactics ie the second step of burning vengeance as well as the second step of sige of ashes. Reviving 10 plaguebearers on an objective or within 12 of the fugitive hero can help secure a tactic for the cost of a command point.

Worth noting that this list has overcome some of our difficult matchups to get here, this is not just list building but had to take some skill to play some of our harder matchups. Trolls healing negates disease which is a lot of our pressure, as well as the mirror having Rotigus while this list does not. Typically in the mirror the player with Rotigus is favored. Winning those matchups are the two stand out to me among what he has played against.

Good list overall with a great result, makes Grandfather proud.
