This is the top three AoS lists for The Great MaW that took place in France on the 25th and 26th of January 2025. It saw 40 players in teams of 8 vying to be crowned champion in a 5-game tournament. For even numbers there was a 6th “bye” team that means there are no lists for those rounds.
Before I jump into the Top Three AoS Lists, I wanted to remind everyone of our friendly Discord server where you can join in the conversation with the Woehammer crew and suggest articles or series for the website.

Fitts: We’re looking at what is a pretty typical list for Nighthaunt at the moment. In this case, pairing Lady Olynder with Awlrach to lead to the two regiments. Awlrach brings back some of the teleporting shenanigans without losing the run or retreat and charge which Death Stalkers. Bladegheists are the classic combination with Awlrach at the moment as they gain their buff purely from charging and being able to drop them just 7″ away from the enemy is a threat which is hard to ignore. Lady O provides the casts to get the Terminexus out to add 1 for the charge roll for a unit makes for a pretty certain charge after the teleport. Lady O also brings some serious value on top for buff/debuff spells, returning models, and reducing enemy control scores. The Lord Ex is a pretty clear choice for many to bear the OPB return half a unit and OPB give all units wholly within 12 +1 attack. Last but not least, we’re still seeing a lot of Hexwraiths around, they are just good value for a unit which is highly mobile, tanky for the pts, and can do a bit of damage on a charge (which you’re always doing in your own turn anyway). They also work very well for a first turn run and charge to pin units in or just block up the board, a good combo with Awlrach being able to teleport in another unit too.
