Brian Horton: So I’ve been a lizardmen player since about 2002 when I started playing warhammer fantasy with my friends and it’s been wonderful to see their evolution through AoS – especially now that we’re able to have more competitive success at tournaments after the doldrums of the Ghyran GHB. I think it’s really important to play an army that you love enough that you still enjoy games even when you’re losing – and for me, Seraphon is absolutely that army.
This list is an evolution of the archetypal infantry heavy seraphon list a lot of us were playing last GHB, it’s simply very well suited to the big, half deployment maps with objectives on the middle line and highly interactive battle tactics that this GHB encourages. The core of 30 saurus warriors do a great job of tanking and holding primary objectives while Lord Kroak provides a ranged threat incentive to encourage your opponent to try and close with your tanky infantry in melee lest they sit still and get punished safely from afar. The kroxigors form your primary hammer to ward off anyone who gets too disrespectful of Lord Kroak while the skinks score your battle tactics and snipe enemy objectives.
This is a brawly list that loves to fight in the middle of the board but also doesn’t split terribly – its ideal state is a castle with a well protected frog but there’s enough oomph in it to fight in more than one place so it’s not the end of the world if you’re on a more spread battleplan. The early game is generally a bit passive on scoring but you can be proactive if you need to by being flexible with your asterisms.
Seraphon’s durability comes from a mix of stacking aura buffs, our Quetzl asterism, and using fury dice judiciously to preserve units or key models. Sunblood back and Astrolith bearer do an incredible job of deepening our effective HP in most matchups and almost the entire list benefits from the buffs they hand out.
This GHB has opened up tons of different lines of play for lizards and I think (almost!) every warscroll in our index has a viable role so this is far from the only way to play dinosaurs – I think monster or cavalry heavy lists are also seeing a lot of success after we’ve been revitalized with battle tactics that better match our (great) game plan.
Old Town Throwdown in particular is my favorite singles event of the season and is the pinnacle of socal AOS with an incredible venue, great TOing, and immaculate vibes- I can’t recommend enough for people to try and grab a ticket next year!

Mike Mercurio: At the start of the new GHB it was expected that Flesh Eater Courts would fall off a bit in power level with the changes in points and abilities. However, the followers of Ushoran remain steadfast in their delusion and still pack a punch at top tables.
Ushoran and Cryptguard offer a strong central that many would not willingly engage. If Ushoran doesn’t stun 3 enemy units with Fight Last from the Shroudcage, the Cryptguard can Strike First on a 3+ if charged. And if that isn’t enough, backing them is a unit of 40 Crypt Ghouls.
Sometimes quantity is a quality all its own, especially when that quantity is throwing around 120 Rend -2 attacks with Feeding Frenzy and a fury level of 7. And of course, the humble knights of Crypt Horror cannot be overlooked. A staple of knight based FEC lists for a while, this unit is a threat to all enemies of the realm but especially opposing cavalry.
Royal Beastflayers fill out the unit roster, providing screening, scoring support, and solid counterplay into enemy monsters. Turning off rampages and reducing incoming damage can be crippling for many monsters, and even blunt end of turn damage from Eruption of Fury. I really like the investment in a Varghulf Courtier for this list. Because step 1 of Burning for Vengeance requires moving into all 4 table quarters (which can be tough for certain castle builds) the Varghulf offers a low-cost way to score secondaries and scour around the edges of the board. Sadly, since he is no longer a hero, he can’t also camp the Place of Power for fury dice, because then he’ll be perfect.
The last part I want to touch on is an interesting combination with the Abhorrant Cardinal with the Fool’s Hat. At first glance this SoA artifact seemed underwhelming, but on a second read the ability to forcibly direct charges where you want them to go is quite strong. Since the artifact requires that the target must end charge moves within a ½” if possible, you can force them into combat with units they otherwise would have preferred not to tag or into your activation control units such as Ushoran.
All in all a strong technical list with some interesting control tools that allows for a lot skill expression from the pilot.

Regiment 2
Shardspeaker of Slaanesh (120)
Lord of Pain (120)

Faction Terrain
Fane of Slaanesh
Tom Guan: The Hedonite of Slannesh list capitalize on the tankiness of painbringers through the debuffs of -1 to hit and taking away opponents weapon abilities with the hitting power of slaangors and shalaxi. The list has great mobility between end of turn moving 3 infantry units, slaangors reaction to commands and the masque’s disruption.
The list has great defense against shooting with baleful visage and incense both restricting los on your hammer pieces.

Sons of Behemat
Taker Tribe
General’s Handbook 2026-27
Drops: 2
Prayer Lore – Brodd’s Bellows
Battle Tactics Cards: Blazing Onslaught and Legend of the Parch

Warstomper Mega-Gargant (450)
Jarod Brown (Rage Babies YouTube): Look, I’m biased because Anthony Magro! The absolute legend behind AoS Coach and a top-tier friend of mine. Having chopped it up with him in a few interviews and interacted with at events, I can tell you the guy is an absolute standup dude, pure class for the community, and an absolute menace when he gets on the tabletop. So when Coach brings a list like this, you know Sigmar’s sweat glands are active.
By Sigmar’s missing hammer, this Sons of Behemat list is pure, distilled “Get Big, Hit Things.” Let’s break down why this list is absolute filth:
Taker Tribe (Deployment Artifact Assignment) Strategy: Anthony isn’t here to play delicate chess; he’s here to squat on objectives, eat your control scores, and make you stare at 2000 points of raw, unfiltered beef.
King Brodd & The Boys: Dropping King Brodd as the big boss with the Power of Behemat means the prayer engine is running hot. This prayer lore stuffs movement speed, extra rend, and critical healing right into Anthony’s pocket. With Nurgle being the menace that it is, being able to add alittle healing cream to that disease goes a long way.
The Aqshy Heat: Bringing out the Scourge of Aqshy Gatebreaker loaded with Monstrously Tough and the Kingslaughter Cowl is just mean. He’s loading up a gate-smashing beatstick that actively hunts your favorite Heroes and refuses to die.
The 2-Drop Flex: Tucking all these absolute units into just 2 drops? That’s tactical efficiency, baby. He gets to dictate who goes first, slam those big boots forward, and claim the middle before the opponent even blinks.
The Supporting Lads: You’ve got the Kraken-eater to kick objectives away, a Warstomper for horde clearing, and a little Scourge of Aqshy Mancrusher rocking “That Boy’s Not Right” running around like a hyperactive toddler with a tree trunk screaming litanies and tossing way too many rocks around.
It’s fast, hits hard, highly flexible with Blazing Onslaught and Legend of the Parch, and stays true to Anthony’s style: smart, aggressive, and undeniably fun. Love seeing the Coach out in the wild stomping heads and putting on a masterclass for the Mortal Realms!
