Håkan Sjölin: The list plays with a semi-aggressive castle in the centre (Kroak, Saurus Guard, Bastiladon). With 4+/4++, 3+/5++ and 2+ saves respectively, combined with the battle plans all being 50/50 (or close to) for the -1 rend option, it gives me a really tough core that is hard to crack for most armies. Unless they want to avoid a 18” circle around Kroak in the middle of the board, the opponent has to try and deal with it before the MWs grind their units down. With Kroak having a chance of just wasting any attacks put into him if he survives his death roll, the opponent has a tough choice to make on what to go into. Against high output armies, Kroak can sit a bit further back to reduce the damage that can be directed his way.

The Hunters of Huanchi are excellent tactics units, especially in Shadowstrike Starhost where they can re-adjust their positioning after dropping down or enemy redeploys. The cav, Aggradons and Raptadons, usually hang back a little at the start and wait for the right time to charge in (not yoloing them up the board is an important lesson to learn!). Their targets often having been softened up by MWs, the aim is for them to clean up any big threats. They do less damage than Kroxigors (the other popular hammer choice), but the added mobility offsets the slowness of the castle.

Zak Rockman: Daughters of Khaine is one of the hardest hitting armies in the game. The combo of Mind Razor for extra rend and damage, The command ability for All out slaughter to let them fight twice and the Prayer Sacrament of Blood putting the unit to be in battle round 5 makes them delete almost any unit in the game and then do it again.

By having alot of overlapping buffs you can afford to drop a one or two and still get the desired output (that being their entire army). One of DoK’s main issue is its fragility. the Combo of Krethusa, the Heart of Fury, sisters of slaughter having a native -1 to hit in combat and Morathi- being well Morathi this army becomes extremely tanky (in combat). So many times people underestimate the amount of damage they will do into a unit that is -1 to hit, wound and cant use command abilities. Sisters of slaughter are a 4+ save with the cauldron and AoD makes them ignore a point of rend. They are the main structure of my army and hold everything all together.

This army excels at playing into combat armies and can usually dominate those interations, it does fall short when the opponent has a solid amount of shooting as most of my buffs/debuffs rely on my opponent being in combat (which was my only loss). As shooting can also start the morathi clock by ensuring they get 3 wounds on her a turn.

Also a note, this list is a little skewed as I am taking it to Worlds very shortly and it is designed to go into certain opponents on certain missions.
