As a teenager I played Shadow of the Horned Rat and Dark Omens to excess. I always wanted a tabletop version of the army to play with as well.

Now that I’m in my forties, I can finally realise that dream.

This week it’s Vannheim’s 75th. These are some heavily armoured horse that you receive while preparing to leave the Border Princes. I often couldn’t choose between these or Ragnar’s Wolves.

To represent them in the game I’ll be running them as Freeblade Knights under Renegade Crowns.

I tried to keep to the original colour scheme and kept the colours to predominantly green and mustard yellow.

They’ve seen battle a couple of times on the tabletop, but have as yet to make any memorable impact.
