This is the top three AoS lists for the AoS Iron Man that took place in the UK on the 12th and 13th July. It saw 24 players vying to be crowned champion in a 5-game tournament.

Luis Mendoza: First and foremost, congratulations to Peter, not easy work nowadays reaching a 5 – 0. His list is based on the good mix between resilience and output damage, able to create deifferent synergies that’s leading to hit hard in the proper moment. But let’s take a look into the list, Sentinels of Bleak Citadels allows to select one Ruination unit in every hero phase and enjoying with a 5+ ward, then almost everything here – other than Knight Relictor, Vigilors and Stormcoven – can be selected, so good.
And starting with heroes, as must to be, Iridan with SoGy profile, is a Priest level 1, her seasonal abilities have turned her in one of the most frequently used profiles in SCE, able to resist Non-core abilities on her or another Ruination unit wholly within 12″ with a re-roll included, a prayer improving the Rend in a ruination unit if a 3+ roll, or 2 units in a 7+, so needed specially after getting used using Special Assignment ability on Prosecutors. But she’s also a hidden hammer when is required, able to jump in a 3+ into a better position pivoting in a selected engaged unit. Then, we have to Lord Terminos, the combo with QSD artefact and reinforced unit of Reclusians, besides to taking Legendary Tenacity heroic trait getting a good chance to keep him on game in a 3+ roll in case of an attack could kill him. Terminos is selecting once per battle a ruination non-hero unit to fight immediatly after him, here the Quick Silver Draught fits perfectly. Continuing with heroes, we count with Knight Relictor, a second priest – the best infantry priest on SCE – reducing ward abilities on a target at 12″ and also supporting to hel with other utility prayers like translocation or banking Ritual points getting Bless weapons, and finally in this section Lord Vigilant on gryph-stalker, allowing to fight twice in the same phase to a non-hero ruination unit, once per battle.
About the Non-hero units, the Prosecutors are still a threat for the enemy, specially if they go with Rend 2, same condition as was in the last GHB, not much to say here, they can remove a tough target if they are fully buffed with the 5+ Ward + Finest Hour + Bless Weapons + Rend 2; able to deny Covering Fire or Rampage abilities, and this list count with 2 reinforced units, huge. Also Reclusians, on of my favorite units, creating MWs on crits, same condition explained if they are fully buffed, but here they are covering the anvil/hammer rol, because can roll resistance in a 3+ if there are counting with memorians on the game; this unit is the most frequently selected by Terminos to fight after him, and also with Lord Vigilant they can fight twice, so usable in opponent’s turn or yours. Stormcoven is covering the wizard rol, the chance to get Strike first or strike last in the correct moment is a good resource, specially against armies that have this mechanics too. And yes, Vigilors to replace the need of the AoA, specially in this season. And the portal, needed to increase board presence!
Aetherwrought machineries, the no cost manifestation pack that helps with abilities that includes the chance to avoid redeploy with Pendulum, and improving the resilience of Stormcoven with Chronomantic Cogs.
The list now includes tactics, we can’t ignore them, Intercept and Recover, goal is killing 3 enemy units selected by your opponent; one of the most popular cards if you are counting with good damage output in your list, considering Prosecutors threatening range this could be not hard to get it, even if they are trying to hidden them. And Restless Energy, is about controlling and stealing objectives in enemy territory or that belonged to your opponent. The list is perfectly engaging everything, so congrats again to Peter.
