Peter: Martin Andre Røhme’s Lumineth Realm-lords list, which took the crown at AoS Worlds Singles, is a shining example of high-discipline play wrapped in stone and sunmetal. Focused around the Alarith Temple, it leans into durability, subtle positioning, and rules efficiency, turning slow, methodical movement into inevitable board dominance.

The list features four units of Alarith Stoneguard, three of which are reinforced. These units benefit from Fortitude of the Earth, giving them a 5+ ward while contesting objectives, and they’ll be doing that a lot. With their thick armour, consistent profiles, and access to key buffs, they grind rather than flash, wearing down enemies like water on stone.

The Alarith Temple’s unique rule, Alarith Fortitude, allows the player to use “Enduring as Rock” alongside another Facet of War ability. That’s no small thing. “Enduring as Rock” subtracts 1 from the Rend of attacks, targeting friendly Alarith units, giving those Stoneguard an extra layer of resilience exactly when it’s needed most. It can turn a rough combat phase into a solid hold.

Lyrior Uthralle slots neatly into this strategy. His passive, Voice of Tyrion, allows friendly units wholly within 12″ to use All-out Attack without spending command points. Over a five-round game, that command economy adds up, especially with Stoneguard, who thrive on consistency. His spell, Solar Flare, punishes manifestations with 3D6 mortal wounds, but even against normal units, it offers reliable chip damage, especially into large squads.

The Stonemage is key to unlocking the Stoneguard’s bite. With Stonemage Stance, he can roll a 3+ to grant +1 Rend to an Alarith Aelf unit’s melee attacks for the turn, crucial when trying to push damage through tougher foes. His spell, Living Fissure, adds mortal wound pressure along a straight line, perfect for punishing blobbed-up battlelines or layered castles.

Two reinforced units of Vanari Sentinels provide ranged threat and board presence. With Lofted Shots, they extend to 36″ range, trading accuracy for reach. While they’re not the terror they once were, in this list, they apply constant pressure, force movement, and control flanks. They’re also prime recipients of the Power of Hysh Facet of War, making them score critical hits on 5+ to hit for a battle round, turning volume into reliable mortals.

Ydrilan Riverblades give the list a much-needed dose of speed and disruption. They can teleport to any battlefield edge with “Travel the Waterways,” and can move 2D6″ through enemy units while in combat, keeping them slippery and unpredictable. They’re not killers, but they’re great at interfering with plans and claiming battle tactics.

Finally, the Shrine Luminor brings casting support and mobility. By placing a hero into the shrine with Enter the Shrine, Martin could benefit from Cleansing Rituals, a once-per-turn casting re-roll for spells wholly within 12″. The shrine can also move 6″ with its guardian on board, offering some cheeky late-game repositioning or CP projection.

This list doesn’t rush. It holds, it weathers, and it waits. It’s not a hammer. It’s the mountainside, and opponents either break upon it or waste their strength trying.

Roland Rivera: Stop me if you’ve heard this before – a 1-drop Slaves to Darkness list did well at a big tournament. The combination of powerful armored units (one of which carries the Dread Banner to shut off command abilities) with the ability to double fight combined with Be’lakor’s ability to control opponents and protect your key pieces has ensured that this build has been dominant since the Battletome’s release. However, the pieces involved in those lists have gone up in points of late, so this iteration will look a bit different from the versions we have seen in the past.

Instead of the Chosen-Varanguard power pair, Benji has chosen to double up on Chosen. While this change combined with the weakening of the Slaanesh pledge makes the list a bit more inconsistent at power projection, 20 Chosen and a Chaos Lord castling up in front of Be’lakor makes for a very imposing deathstar that can very effectively control the middle of the board.

Beyond the essentials, the list rounds things out with a reinforced unit of Darkoath Fellriders to threaten weaker units and potentially score movement-based Battle Tactics. Overall, this list’s success in as prominent a stage as AoS Worlds underscores that it will remain a contender going forward.
