Last week I restarted my WIP Wednesday article which was wildly successful (*) so I’m back again with my progress.
Welcome to Woehammer – have you noticed the lovely feeling of no adverts (ads), no pop-ups and no auto-playing videos? Well, that’s the norm here at Woehammer.
But this is only possible because of our wonderful Patreons. So, some articles over 1 year old will now display our Patreon request at the top of the article… like this one! Don’t worry, we are not adding ads – but if you can afford to donate to the site, we would definitely appreciate it. Membership is available from just £1/month (plus taxes!!)
WIP Wednesday
I will post my current WIP each week and hopefully there will be change each week and the pile of models will reduce or change each week. If there is no article, it means no progress, or I’m taking a much needed break! I expect most of the models to be included in future ‘Hobby Updates’ with detailed pictures and the paint scheme so I won’t include much detail in future WIP Wednesday – expect pictures and a short description of progress.
Second update
Following my update last week I managed to get more paint on some toys; nothing on the Soviets or the Reaper Dragon, but progress made on the Imperial Bastions and my Legion Imperialis Space Marines.

I have undercoated the Imperial Bastions with Colour Forge and been impressed with the spray paint (they’ll be a review article here once I’ve done a little more work on the Imperial Bastions).

The Bastions come with a couple of great little additions – Lascannons and Sensor arrays. I have finished most of the painting on these, but I want to highlight the green slightly … I have bought some Moot Green at the recommendation of Reddit but I’m awaiting a new drybrush to arrive before I try the highlights on the Bastions first.

Less work was done on the Imperialis Space Marines, but I’ve managed to add my silver (Leadbelcher) undercoat. I will add red to these to get them looking more like Space Marines.
24 for 24
On my weekly Zoom painting Pete mentioned his new year resolution “24 for 24” – 24 minutes of hobby for 24 days each month. You can find more details on his New Year Blog. Whilst I am not sure I will succeed with this, it’s another great tool alongside Peter’s Hobby Bingo & Woepoints to get some more Hobby done.
Next Week
So, onto week 3… will I make any more progress? Fingers crossed.
— Declan & Eeyore
I’ll jump on this. Why not?!
I’ve actually made a good start to the new year and have already painted up some Trollslayers for Old World and Kruleboyz Monsta-Killaz.
On my painting table, currently, I’ve got a number of projects, like Declan, I like to have options for projects to work on so that I don’t burn out.

These are some truly oldhammer Dwarfs from the late 80s, I believe. I’ve had them for ages! I’ve based them on 25s, and my plan is to use them as Dwarf Warriors or perhaps Dwarf Militia in special scenarios.

This is the banner for the trollslayers unit. For some reason, I went all out on the troll head. Don’t ask why… this banner and 9 other trollslayers make up the remainder of my 20 Dwarf strong slayer unit.

The above is the remainder of my Legions Imperialis I need to paint. I’m mostly there with the space marine troops, I just need to get my head down and paint the final few colours.
