Blades of Khorne Faction Breakdown – December 2023

SUBFACTIONS

Overall, disregarding the unknown lists (lists which didn’t specify which subfaction they were) Goretide appears to be the most successful subfaction at GTs with a win rate of 68%, while in RTT & Casual settings Reapers of Vengeance appears to have the run of the tables with a win rate 57%. Both however shake out at 58% across the formats. However, the Skullfiend Tribe also joins them in exceeding the 55% win rate bracket.

Reapers of Vengeance are by far the most popular faction at both formats of the game, followed by Bloodlords.

Here we can see how the subfaction players generally perform at GTs. The grey bar shows how many players achieve 0 to 2 wins at a GT, if this is less than 50%, then that faction has a positive win rate, as shown in the yellow bar (those players who achieve 3 or more wins), the blue segment shows those who achieve 4 or more wins, and finally the green segment shows the percentage of players who go on to win all 5 games.

This chart can show a lack of balance via results, if all factions were perfectly balanced (along with player skills) then the opposing bars (i.e. 5-0 and 0-5, 3-2 and 2-3).

FACTION MATCHUPS

Note that these stats are across all game formats.

Matching their win rate performance, the matchups against the various factions is leant more towards the favourable side, with only a few risky factions that do well against Khorne.

ROUND PERFORMANCE

Starting with the first round and all the way until the last, all rounds fall in favour of Khorne players. The reduced win rate in later rounds is possibly reflective of coming up against more skilled players.

WARSCROLL PERFORMANCE

This chart shows the win rates of lists which include the warscroll (in Blue) compared to those that don’t (in Orange). It also shows their appearances in lists in grey.

WARSCROLLS NOT USED

  1. This is so helpful and informative! When I made my Khorne army I just had to start with all Bloodthirsters and Flesh Hounds. But it sure looks like mortals are doing the best. Not sure why people like Reapers so much better than Baleful Lords, as all the Reapers lists I see have at least 2-3 Thirsters. Thirsters already hit on 2+, and with Titanic Duel and AoA there are ways to buff hits anyways. Keeping their wound rolls at 2+ and the highest amount of attacks seems more important, and the Wrathy w Fury or Rage combo is excellent next to each anyways.
