Luis Mendoza: Hell yeah! the Big Bad Boys are back in the town!

Congrats to Alex for this 4 – 1, that looks so amazing considering the META stats and BoK position – if you want to consult the META data just click here -.

The list is built on AoR The Baleful Lords, allowing to take only Monster Hero Daemons, whom were directly benefitted reducing points in the last Battlescroll and creating room for the 5th daemon. The list’s skills are based in the synergy between Baleful Lords and adding a spicy flavour with the tricky options of the AoR, with 2 additional Rampage abilities besides to the chance getting a replacement of a Baleful Lord that was destroyed among other things. The mobility can’t be a problem with units that can flight, move 12″ and hit like truck in the proper moments.

The general is Wrath of Khorne, the Bloodthirster specialized against heroes, counting with a Rampage ability and a melee profile that can create good amount of damage on them; also adding value to the offensive game improving in a +1 attack characteristic in melee weapons of one visible Bloodthirster besides to be the bearer of Unrivalled Batlelust to add also +1 attack characteristic in combat phase once per battle, in this way the general can contribute increasing the damage output, specially counting with 2 Insensate Rage BT, one of those charging with the 2 best dice of a 3D6 because Beckon the hunt, breaking the front lines specially if they are infantry, one of the Insensate Rage is the owner of Crown of the Slaughterborn, to avoid any unit within 12″ of him can’t be healed and returning models to them. Then, 2 units of Unfettered Fury supporting the threatening range in charges, besides to count with a good warscroll to fight against Monsters, reducing their melee attaking profile with a -1 to hit & wound. Synergy lies in not keeping all your units in combat at the same time, but working on decisive strikes at key moments and being able to move smoothly across the battlefield. Sounds easier than done.

And about Tactic cards, those are Master the Paths and Restless Energy, maybe the most reliable combination when your roster is so elite, allowing you to get scoring in a progressive way in parallel to the advance of your units along the game.

Once again, Congrats Alex! Amazing job!

Stuart Angleton: Andrew seems to have brought a balanced list of all the Idoneth cavalry and good casters. I’m not a huge fan of putting points on battle formations, but Akhelian Beastmasters has definitely earned the point tax.

Reinforced Morsarr Guard give reliable mortal wound output and +1 damage on the charge and reinforced Ishlaen Guard are a great anvil for their points; having a ward on the charge and giving out -1 attack in any combat phase combined with eel output can handle well over its points value worth of enemy units. Matheaela is an auto-take for any eel enjoyer with +1 to the eels’ attacks to three units. No 3+ roll, just pick your units and swing away.

One allopex output can be underwhelming, but with 4, you have reliable high damage shooting, and base rend 2 melee if you need it.

The Eidolon is a survivable caster and with Endless Sea-storm it has a once per game +2 to casting roll (with its base of +1 to casting rolls that’s +3 to a casting roll). Your odds of successfully casting a clutch Tsunami of Terror or an Incarnate of the Deep are as close to guaranteed as you can ask for in the faction.

Scouting Force and Restless Energy are great choices for Idoneth. An army of almost entirely super fast cavalry make for easy scouting force scoring and the single unit of thralls can either screen or just complete your war chores while the cavalry handle the fighting.

The biggest danger to this kind of list is matching into consistent mortal damage output, or a horde of bodies that gum up the objectives and keep you too far behind on primary.

Overall, Andrew has a great list and his ability to pilot it shows with a successful result. Great job, and good luck in your next outing!
