Sunday Hobby Update 1

To try and keep myself painting regularly, I’ve decided to post a weekly hobby. Update of my work from the last week.

With the 2nd Edition challenge for 40k, a lot of my hobby time has gone into refreshing my old range. But I have finished painting some Silver Bayonet models I have on my list.

A Vampire, this is one from my hobby resolutions ticked off. Not the best paint job, but it’ll do for now.

And some living armour for Silver Bayonet as well.

I took the first steps for both my own slow grow challenge and the 2nd edition 40k challenge by performing surgery on the Limited Edition Gamesday Captain. While coming out at the start of 3rd edition, as it represents the box art of 2nd Ed, I can’t see how I can’t include it in some way.

The surgery went well, and he now has a new base.

I’ve also painted up a few of my old 2nd edition models to my modern standard rather than their old Dip ‘n’ Flick™ look.

I’ve been using Paint Blitzer a lot recently and can’t recommend it enough. It’s made short work of removing the paint of the old models. If you want to read a review, the legends over at Sprues & Brews wrote a really good one a couple of years ago.

I will say that I’d forgotten how frustrating the old metal models are to put together. Lots of pins and hobby clamps were needed!

And that’s it, until next week. Laters!
