Hobby Update – Sarissa Precision – Railway Signal Box

Last week I shared my progress with my Epic collection, but this week I have something completely different.

Sarissa Precision

Sarissa Precision have been producing helpful wargaming products in mdf for a long time and are a great company who are a regular at a lot of the UK wargaming trade shows. Having been producing kits for a while now they have a great back catalogue with many different scales and eras that can be bought and played with.

I picked up a Railway Junction box in 2023, and decided to paint something a bit different … brown!

How do they play?

Well, it’s terrain; so depends what it is used on! Still it’s a lovely line of sight blocking terrain that can definitely be used to hide models. I don’t know when I’m going to be playing it though, but it will live safely in my terrain collection until I find a use for it.

Paints Used

I try to paint terrain in simple schemes so that they provide good backdrops to models, but don’t overshadow them on the battlefield.

The model was great to put together, very simple instructions to follow and a joy to paint up. I did use varnish over the mdf before an undercoat of Black as otherwise mdf can drink up the undercoat paint. (Mdf sealant can be used for this as well)

Buying a Box

At £19 and available on their website this is an easy model to get. Check out Sarissa directly to see what else they have.
