Old World Slow Grow Campaign: July Update

We’ve had 26 players join our local club’s Old World Slow Grow campaign.

This is a narrative campaign, which you can read up on here. But the gist of the event is:

  • Players start at 500pts and increase by 250pts every two months
  • They pledge their allegiance to one of three factions that are vying for control of the city of Kasrabad in the southern Border Princes.
  • Each General earns renown for themselves as well as earning influence for the faction.
  • Everyone is encouraged to create a background for their armies and General.

We even have a fake newspaper which reports on events every so often during the campaign.

Our list of Generals and their factions:

We’ve seen some interesting reasons for the alignments in the campaign. Some of my personal favourites are the Orcs fighting for the Nobles and Beastmen fighting for the Merchants…

So far throughout July and August we’ve seen 23 games take place. Players are yet to choose which games they would like to count towards the campaign, but so far we’ve seen each faction have their share of victories:

The Revolutionaries: 12 Victories
The Nobles: 8 Victories
Merchants Guild: 3 Victories

As for the papers, we’ve had a few editions so far:
