Faction Stats: Blades of Khorne (Nov ’24)

Everyone loves the murder hobos that are Blades of Khorne right?

Battle Formation

Blades of Khorne looks to be a little more balanced internally than we’ve seen with the other factions so far, with three of the four Battle Formations taken fairly regularly. Murder Host (Ward of 5+ for friendly non-Monster Blades of Khorne Daemons that use a fight ability) appears to be the one that is struggling though.

Artefacts

While again, all the artefacts are taken regularly Our Garth (remove ward rolls for an enemy hero unit in combat with the bearer) and the Collar of Contempt (use unbind abilities as if the bearer is a Wizard (1) and the caster suffers D3 mortal damage if the unbind is successful) are the better balanced items.

Heroic Traits

Again, GW have done a good job with the rules as all of the options are getting regular play. Relentless Hunger (if the bearer is picked to be the target of the ‘Murderlust’ ability, it can move 6″ instead of 3″) and Favoured of Khorne (Begin the battle with 1 blood tithe point) are the most balanced at the moment.

Manifestations

Being a more prayer heavy army, it’s natural to see their own Endless Spells leading the way here.

Warscrolls

We can see that the warscrolls are fairly balanced both externally (win rates) and internally (number of times selected). The only one standing out as a must pick is the Slaughterpriest, but that is so the Blades of Khorne can use their prayer abilities.

Performance v Other Factions

A very mixed bag here, Khorne struggles against both Stormcast Eternals and Slaves to Darkness to the two most popular armies, while against Nighthaunt who are the current win rate leaders, they’re having a Nightmare of a time.

Close

As always, you’ll probably (and quite rightly) disagree with me on a lot of these points. Why not let us know I’m the comments below what you think to the Disciples of Tzeentch.
