We all knew it would come eventually, and, after years of wish listing Total war: Warhammer 40,000 has finally been announced.
Take a look at their announcement trailer below:
It doesn’t give us much to go on yet, but we can at least see the awesomeness that are Orks will be involved.
Honestly, I’m excited, but also a little nervous. Firstly because I’ll probably need a PC that’ll melt through my floor and secondly… Warhammer 40,000 has a very….. opinionated fan base. They’ll have expectations…. by the bucketful.

Ive already heard someone hoping that each planet will have a grand campaign map.
It Makes Sense
Warhammer Total War was huge for GW. It brought new players into the hobby on their droves and although Old World’s resurrection didn’t happen because of Total War, it certainly didn’t hurt.

Games Workshop would be mad not to chase the same for Warhammer 40,000. From a business point of view it makes perfect sense.
But Total War: Warhammer 40,000 doesn’t get to be “pretty good”. The 40k fans are knowledgeable and as already stated, very opinionated. We can argue for hours about the lore of 40k and a lot of these fans will have already imagined what a Total War: 40k game will look like in detail.
The real-time battles will need to feel like 40k and not another Dawn of War game.
That PC I mentioned….
I’m bracing myself for the requirements. Total War III would give my PC serious palpatations, Total War 40k, will be something else.
So yes, I’m cautiously hyped. But the backlash could be spectacular.
The Emperor Protects. My PC probably won’t…
