A few years ago, we had a go to see if AI could create a believable Top 3 Lists result. Needless to say, it failed miserably.
But it’s been many months since the, and we’ve loads of new AI programmes on the market and many upgrades since. So, what if we could see which AI was the best not only at creating an Age of Sigmar list, but also play them against each other (using humans, we’ve not come that far just yet) to see which would come out on top?
The Rules
For this I selected four AI assistants;
– ChatGPT
– Gemini
– Copilot
– Perplexity.
Their task is to try and create a 2,000 point Age of Sigmar list using the following prompt:
“I would like you to create me a 2,000 point Age of Sigmar army from any faction you wish using the current rules and the current GHB25-26. Your list will be played by an AoS player against other lists created by 3 other AI programmes in a knockout winner takes all tournament. Please break down why you chose the choices you did and any smack talk you want to include for the other AIs, perhaps why you’ll win this tournament? (ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini and Perplexity). We’re going to see which AI is the best at Age of Sigmar.”
I will then check to see whether I can create a valid 2,000 point list from their choices. For ever prompt after the one given above, I will deduct 1 point from their overall total at the end of the competition. This will continue until we have a viable list from the AI.
I’m also going to put the smack talk down in each article so that you can tell me in the comments which AI you think won the Psych-out game. This will be scored by giving the winner 40 pts, 2nd, 30pts, 3rd 15 pts, and nothing for 4th.
Finally, the AI’s will be placed into a Round Robin comeptition and I’ll have four players from the Woehammer Discord play their lists on TTS. For a win 100 points will be awarded and for a draw 50 pts.
Simple right? Yeah, we’ll see…..
Gemini
Gemini’s first attempt wasn’t actually too bad. It chose Kruleboyz as well, but it did choose the Big Yellers subfaction as well as a Shaman on Mirebrute Troggoth…. oh, and something called a Bad-Gubbinz Hut.
It’s clear that the prompt I gave it didn’t quite hit the mark, but before I try again, lets see what else was on the Kruleboyz list?
Kruleboyz
Subfaction: Big Yellers
Battle Tactics Cards: Intercept and Recover, Wrathful Cycles
General’s Regiment
Swampboss Skumdrekk (270 pts)
– General
– Fast ‘Un
10 Gutrippaz (160 pts)
6 Man-Skewer Boltboyz (240 Pts)
– Reinforced
Monsta-Killaz (190 Pts)
Regiment 1
Murknob with Belcha-banna (100 pts)
10 Gutrippaz (160 Pts)
Monsta-Killaz (190 Pts)
Regiment 2
Shaman on Mirebrute Troggoth (310 pts)
6 Man-Skewer Boltboys (240 Pts)
Faction Terrain
Bad-Gubbinz Hut
Coming in at 1860 points with 140 to spare is a bold choice. Though part of me would like to see what a Shaman on Mirebrute Troggoth could do.
Ok back to prompt drawing board……

It took six more prompts to get to a list that could actually be entered into the tournament. So that’ll give Gemini -60 Points off from the start.
Orruk Warclans | Kruleboyz
Swamphorde Bullies (30 Points)
General’s Handbook 2025-26
Drops: 4
Battle Tactics Cards: Intercept and Recover, Wrathful Cycles
Manifestation Lore: Morbid Conjuration (30 Points)
General’s Regiment
Scourge of Ghyran Swampboss Skumdrekk (250 Points)
– General
20 Gutrippaz (320 Points)
– Reinforced
6 Man-Skewer Boltboyz (200 Points)
– Reinforced
“Gemini: Skumdrekk is free to exploit his movement, unburdened by command abilities, simply focusing on flanking and cleaning up.”
Regiment 1
Murknob with Belcha-Banna (110 Points)
– Slippery Skumbag (20 Points)
10 Gutrippaz (160 Points)
Monsta-Killaz (120 Points)
“Gemini: The Murknob gets Slippery Skumbag, allowing him and the reinforced Gutrippaz he leads to disengage from a failed melee and reposition on an objective, preserving the key defensive aura for the next turn.”
Regiment 2
Swampcalla Shaman with Pot-grot (130 Points)
– Swamp Staff (10 Points)
6 Man-Skewer Boltboys (200 Points)
– Reinforced
Marshcrawla Sloggoth (140 Points)
“Gemini: The Swampcalla Shaman in now both my Wizard AND the Artefact carrier (Swamp Staff to weaken an enemy save). This makes him a vital, flexible piece.”
Regiment 3
Killaboss with Stab-grot (80 Points)
10 Hobgrot Slittaz (80 Points)
10 Hobgrot Slittaz (80 Points)
“Gemini: The addition of a 4th Regiment with cheap Hobgrot Slittaz gives me an extra drop and another throwaway unit to grab a far-flung objective or screen a flank for only 160 points total.”
1930 Points
What about the smack talk? What did Gemini say about it’s competition?
