It’s been a while since I’ve updated the player rankings. This is mainly due to other projects and the regular output of our top three articles getting in the way and finding the time to allow me to catch up. But I’m happy to say, catch up I have!

All of this data is relevant up to and including last weekends results. As always, we may not be aware of every GT that has taken place, but we do out best. If we have missed one, then why not complete the template to submit its results to us and we’ll include it in our database,

How Ranking Points are Calculated

Points are awarded to each player for a win or a draw. Points are calculated for each faction. To calculate a factions win score is a fairly simple process:

Take their current win rate as shown in our weekly AoS Meta article and times this by 5:

e.g. Lumineth Realm-Lords: 51.02% x 5 = 2.6

This is the expected number of wins that faction should achieve in a 5 game GT. Next divide 100 by this value to give a score for each win.

e.g. Lumineth Realm-Lords 100/2.6 = 39.2 per win.

When a player has finished their tournament multiply their result (draws are counted as 0.5) by the score.

e.g. a Lumineth player achieves 2 wins and a draw; 2.5 x 39.2 = 98 points

Finally, anther factor is then applied to this result, which is the size of the event. A players score will be multiplied by the following amounts for the specified number of players at that event:

17-32 Players	1.0
33-64 Players	1.1
65-128 Players	1.2
129+ Players	1.3

Events where there are further rounds to decide a winner (i.e. the knockout format at LVO), will be based on the first 5 games of that event, any knockout games will not add to a players ranking score.

Likewise any events where the GT consists of 6 rounds instead of 5, the initial score calculation will multiply a factions win rate by 6 instead of 5. This then gives a predicted outcome for a six round event when 100 is divided by that result.

Hopefully, this is fairly self explanatory, but it shows each factions win rates for this period and their ranking points given to each player who wins a game with that faction at a 5 game GT. These numbers have been locked down and will not change. Events that were included in this period were:

As this hasn’t been done since Jan, there’s been a lot of GT’s occurred since that date, and included within those was the 300+ player LVO! So the top 20 has changed considerably.

I will do a few short player breakdowns over the coming weeks, showing their scores at each GT and which factions they have been running. As well as hopefully a few comments from the players themselves.
