There is no rivalry quite like it. Scotland plays host to this year’s Old World 6 Nations event in the historic city of Stirling. They would love nothing more than to defend their home turf against the old enemy, England. With 2,200 points, using Combined Arms and Grand Melee restrictions, it will be a test of generalship and discipline.
The Old World 6 Nations is a showcase of the very best the hobby has to offer. Here’s an insight into England and Scotland, two of the fantastic teams attending.

Scoring
Each game can yield 20 tournament points, depending on how close the game is. If the difference in victory points (points gained through objectives and kills) is 301, the winner scores 11, and the defeated player scores 9. This scales all the way to 3,000+ where the winner would score 20, and the defeated player, 0.
While every tournament point is recorded, for the purposes of determining placing they are capped at 100 points (max) and 60 points (min), per round. This is to stop teams from running away with a tournament based on a single good or bad round.
In the event of two teams scoring the same in capped tournament points, only then will the uncapped points count to decide the overall victor.
It is unlikely that every player on a team would win in a single round. In fact, armies are sometimes designed not to win! Instead, they must survive, and make sure that no matter the opponent, a basic number of points can be scored.

Who are you? What nation are you representing and what’s your role in that team?
My names Amiy Chatley, representing Scotland as Captain for the 2026 Old World team.
How did you first get into Warhammer: The Old World? What do you like about it?
At the end of 2024 people finally convinced me to rebase some of my models I had been using for 40K and Age of Sigmar Arachnaroks. The rest was a wild downhill tumble into Old World Orc & Goblin degeneracy.
I’ve been in the hobby for over 25 years and love to build, paint and play. Old World offers a particular opportunity to revisit the nostalgia of old metal miniatures, but with the last few decades of painting experience.
On the table the game is much richer an experience than the other GW offerings, and it really feels like you are rewarded for the time you spend learning your own and others factions.
What motivated you to play in a team and represent your nation?
Whilst I love my fun Arachnarok and Trolls. I do also love to compete. As foreign a concept as those two things might be, playing so many games of Warhammer in a year gives a great opportunity to eek every ounce of value from a faction like Orcs & Goblins.
I was asked to play in Germany last year which was a great experience. When it came time to find a captain for 2026 I was very happy to put my name in the ring. I’ve opted for a non-playing role this year so I can focus on all of the behind-the-scenes work that it takes to let the players shine.
What are you hoping to achieve at Old World 6 nations?
As a team with 50% new members, we want to get in some solid practice in a teams environment playing at this sort of competitive level. The differences in the lists and pairings at a teams event is hard / impossible to reproduce at a singles event.
If we can come away top 3, with a best sporting nomination, I think we would all be over the moon.
We are taking our role as ‘Scottish Ambassadors’ seriously, making sure everyone has a great time up in our neck of the woods!

How did you first get into Warhammer: The Old World? What do you like about it?
Something not too many people know about me is I suffer from a spinal condition. When I was a kid it was pretty bad. I was in a wheelchair for 4 years and I could really do any sports, or play with other kids. But one day my dad turned up with a box of goblins for me as I was a keen Tolkien fan and fantasy in general (before the films, showing my age here).
And as soon I got my first box and White Dwarf I was hooked! For me it was a release and escape into that fantasy world.
Warhammer fantasy has been a life time love affair, so when the Old World came back I threw myself in to events. I try and support the English community and world wide Old World community as much as I possibly can. Being the English team captain has been the biggest honour of my life. And winning the World Team Championship last year was honestly one of the best moments of my life.
What motivated you to play in a team and represent your nation?
A desire to represent the country. Show the world what we can do. Have great games, meet great people and play with sportsmanship and fairness.
What are you hoping to achieve at Old World 6 nations?
We are hoping to have a great time, play some amazing games, see some amazing friends, showcase some great Warhammer. Oh, and walk away with a trophy!
