What is this all about?

Looks like you’ve all gotten the hero you deserve now… with a great lack of list challenges floating around the internet… I’m looking at you Plastic Craic. I’ve taken it into my own hands to right this wrong and start with a flat out ridiculous list challenge which is of absolutely no help to the competitive scene!

For the first one, I announced things over on the Woehammer discord to get things going:

“Ah, I’m excited about this and next week is my birthday so here goes with the first of  “Fittsy’s List Challenge”. (I still have no idea for the prize yet but I’ll mull it over. @Woehammer_Peter open to ideas here 😉 ). So for my first one, I’m going to throw it out nice and wide and creative. I’m looking for the best song themed list because “it’s my party and I’ll  cry if I want to” 😉 I will be outrageously biased in my assessment of them and am not setting any success criteria in advance 😄 Feel free to send it with a description of what it does / how it is song related or not… there are no rules here!

Bonus points to anyone who can come up with a better name for it. (Points for alliteration or puns)

Oh, there is a rule… you need to send in the lists in at the latest in precisely a week’s time from this message!” I didn’t even manage to stick to the last part because I mixed up which day I’d sent the message. Oops. I hope you weren’t expecting anything else from me at this point 😛

Since this is the music edition… I’ll start you off with the song which has somehow been stuck in my head for the last week:

The deal is that the winner will be crowned the “List Legend” on the Woehammer discord… and at some point, maybe a sponsor will throw themselves at me and ask to support the List Challenge 😉😉

The Best of the Rest

We’ll start with Peter because he can’t win it anyway, that’d be silly! Talking about silly, he even submitted two!

First up we’ve got one riffing directly off the challenge itself! I like the combination of Slaanesh and the theme… but this isn’t good enough to win it.

Wait wait wait… did I not specify that this needs to be Age of Sigmar? Oops, no. And that’s how you get Old World submissions! That thing is so long, I’m not even going to paste it in here… you’ll have to check it out directly in the discord. Peter went with “Walk? Like an Egyptian [1997 pts] Warhammer: The Old World, Tomb Kings of Khemri, Nehekharan Royal Hosts, Open War” which is really leaning into the pun side of things and I like this direction. But no points for Old World lists… unless you lot are keen in which case someone should set up a List Challenge for that too.

Envoy flipped the script with this one and I like it. Bonus points for a Nighthaunt list. This was definitely tickling my fancy but it’s been edged out by the winner which we’ll get to soon.

Sylvaneth are prevalent in the meta currently (rightfully so) and I get shivers just seeing a Spirit of Durthu let alone two!

Last but not least of the not winning Lists is this one from Rose of Winter heading into the heavier stuff with a Sabaton song!

The Winning List!

I like the theme here… I’m a sucker for Zombies. I also really like the mix. This could have just been a spam list with all Deadwalker zombies but Kars took the chance to remind us that there are actually a bunch of other Zombie units too! Downside is I’ve had the song stuck in my head for ages since asking for entries!

I mean look, there is to my knowledge one sign with a Fitzy in it so I had to riff off that 😉

This video clip is more than a little ridiculous so you can see why I not only wanted to write a list for this but am seriously thinking of collecting this as an army now 😉

Give me your best anti-magic lists! Lumineth and Tzeentch armies are going to be blasting their way onto the scene again with fancy magic bullshit and I don’t like it. This time I’ll be looking for more competitive serious options. Surprise me with your ingenuity and you can wear the crown that is the “List Legend” too!
