Having worked our way through the Destruction factions, we’ll move on to Chaos. Today, Nurgle.

Battle Formation

Tallyband of Nurgle is the most popular battle formation and to date, the most successful. Their Disease and Pestilence Personified ability allowing them to add 1 to the number of mortal damage inflicted by the ‘Wracked with Disease‘ ability is perfectly balanced externally at present.

Artefacts

Like the Tallyband of Nurgle battle formation, The Witherstave appears to be well balanced externally for what it does (Giving an enemy unit Fight Last on 4+ that charged the bearer), and is the most popular by far of the artefacts.

Heroic Traits

Once again, only one real choice among the three is standing out to the Nurgle players, with Grandfather’s Blessing being chosen by the majority of players due to it allowing to heal the bearer if they are in combat with a Diseased unit.

Manifestations

And moving on to manifestations, it’s clear to see that Morbid Conjuration is once again one of the most popular choices, along with the Krondspine Incarnate.

Warscrolls

We can see the more popular warscrolls such as Plaguebearers, the Great Unclean One and Plague Drones, all have adequate win rates externally. However, Pusgoyle Blightlords who do seem to have some popularity are struggling at a 33% win rate when included in lists.

Performance v Other Factions

Against the more popular factions, Nurgle are balanced well against the Slaves to Darkness at 51% win rate, while they really struggle to breakdown Stormcast Eternal armies, with a win rate of 42% against Sigmar’s chosen warriors.
