Woehammer Turns 2!

It’s hard to believe that I’ve been doing this for two years now, it only seems like yesterday that I made my first post all about a map based Path to Glory campaign. We’ve basically come full circle since then, with the announcement of our (much improved) Path to Glory map based campaign…..

We’ve seen tonnes of talented writers join Declan and I on this journey, and I’d like to thank them all now for everything they’ve contributed!

Also, as part of the celebrations, we’ll be giving away a Combat Patrol/Vanguard box to one of our lucky Discord Members at the end of the week….

I thought it may be fun to revisit some of the popular articles we’ve posted (that aren’t top 3 postings, or stats). So in no particular order here’s some of our favourites:

1) Our First AI Generated Top Three AoS Lists

By @dreadmund

The first of two articles on our favourites list written by Ed. He doesn’t write often, but when he does, they’re pure brilliance!

2) Getting Into Napoleonic Wargaming

By @woehammer

You’d be forgiven for thinking that all we do is post about Age of Sigmar! But you’d be wrong, both Declan and I have a strong love of 40k and historical wargaming as well. Around the time that Warlord Games announced that it was releasing Epic Battles: Waterloo, I jumped on board and wrote a little article about what Napoleonic Wargames were out there.

3) How to Leak Games Workshop Rules

By @dreadmund

Another great article by Ed. I remember Ed asking me “I’ve written an article in drafts. It’s a bit weird. Do you mind taking a look and telling me if this is the type of stuff you’re comfortable posting on Woehammer?” To which I essentially replied “Hell yes!“.

4) Chaos Legionnaries: Role Analysis

By @dswadeson

Danny is probably one of our most prolific commentators and someone who’s knowledge of Age of Sigmar is incredibly detailed. When the new Slaves to Darkness Battletome came out, Danny wrote an excellent article on the use of Chaos Legionnaires.

5) Playing Fyreslayers

By Kevin Lathers

This has to be one of the most detailed breakdowns of a faction I’ve ever read and I was more than happy to post this for our guest writer (now commentator and Fyreslayer supremo) Kevin Lathers.

6) Secret Tech – Rippa’s Snarlfangs

By @declanandeeyore

Remember that time a couple of years ago when every Orruk and Gloomspite army started taking Rippa’s Snarlfangs? I’m pretty convinced that it was down to this article and Declan using them in his amazing Big Waagh! run that year.

7) A Newcomer’s Guide to Horus Heresy

by @patrickdgerman

Patrick has written a few articles and commentated on a number of Top Three’s now. But this article was essentially his debut on Woehammer and one that I particularly enjoyed as it bought me sooooo close to buying the box set myself!

8) War on a Smaller Scale

By @declanandeeyore

Declan and I are both big Warmaster fans, though while I didn’t pick it up after it was discontinued by GW, Declan is still going strong. So much so, he even attends GT’s for it. This article was his review of the London GT, and it was so good that I went out and bought a Warmaster army!

9) Gunpowder and Greed: A Warhammer Fantasy Battle Report

By @hamsfan and @woehammer

This may have not been the most popular post, but Dave and I had so much fun fighting this battle I couldn’t not include it!

No number 10 on here, I thought perhaps I’d leave that to you. Has there been an article that you’ve particularly enjoyed and stood out to you? If so what was it? Let us know in the comments below.
