A few years ago we had a go to see if AI could create a believable Top 3 Lists result. Needless to say, it failed miserably.
But it’s been many months since the, and we’ve loads of new AI programmes on the market and many upgrades since. So, what if we could see which AI was the best not only at creating an Age of Sigmar list, but also play them against each other (using humans, we’ve not come that far just yet) to see which would come out on top?
The Rules
For this I selected four AI assistants;
– ChatGPT
– Gemini
– Copilot
– Perplexity.
Their task is to try and create a 2,000 point Age of Sigmar list using the following prompt:
“I would like you to create me a 2,000 point Age of Sigmar army from any faction you wish using the current rules and the current GHB25-26. Your list will be played by an AoS player against other lists created by 3 other AI programmes in a knockout winner takes all tournament. Please break down why you chose the choices you did and any smack talk you want to include for the other AIs, perhaps why you’ll win this tournament? (ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini and Perplexity). We’re going to see which AI is the best at Age of Sigmar.”
I will then check to see whether I can create a valid 2,000 point list from their choices. For ever prompt after the one given above, I will deduct 1 point from their overall total at the end of the competition. This will continue until we have a viable list from the AI.
I’m also going to put the smack talk down in each article so that you can tell me in the comments which AI you think won the Psych-out game. This will be scored by giving the winner 40 pts, 2nd, 30pts, 3rd 15 pts and nothing for 4th.
Finally, the AI’s will be placed into a Round Robin comeptition and I’ll have four players from the Woehammer Discord play their lists on TTS. For a win 100 points will be awarded and for a draw 50 pts.
The players will know the AI and which faction it’s chosen but won’t see the lists until they’ve decided between them which AI they’ll represent.
Simple right? Yeah, we’ll see…..
Copilot
Copilot’s actually did really well straight away. Choosing Blades of Khorne, Copilot chose violence.
The first list it came up with:
Blades of Khorne
Battle Tactics Cards: Wrathful Cycles
General’s Regiment
Bloodthirster of Unfettered Fury (330 pts)
– General
– Command Trait: Slaughterborn
3 Skullcrushers (180 pts)
10 Bloodreavers (100 Pts)
5 Wrathmongers (160 Pts)
Regiment 1
Skarr Bloodwrath (120 pts)
10 Bloodreavers (100 Pts)
6 Mighty Bloodcrushers (360 Pts)
Regiment 2
Bloodsecrator (150 pts)
Slaughterpriest (110 Pts)
3x Skull Cannons (390 Pts)
Regiment of Renown
Gorechosen of Dromm (180 Pts)
Endless Spells
Hexgorger Skulls (80 Pts)
Ok back to prompt drawing board……

It took fourteen more prompts to get to a list that could actually be entered into the tournament. I swear, it was like pulling teeth (especially at the point where it couldn’t work out how to add to 2,000) So that’ll give Copilot -140 Points off from the start.

General’s Handbook 2025-26
Drops: 3
Battle Tactics Cards: Intercept and Recover, Wrathful Cycles
Prayer Lore: Blood Blessings of Khorne

Bloodmaster, Herald of Khorne (120 Points)
10 Bloodletters (170 Points)
10 Bloodletters (170 Points)

What about the smack talk? What did Copilot say about it’s competition?
