Age of Sigmar: Path to Glory Campaign III

We’ve done a number of Path to Gloey campaigns now, with both previous versions being map based and very admin heavy for myself.

The map from our second campaign – The Al’Vain Campaign

But we’re taking a different approach for our third campaign. And we’ll be playing this on Tabletop Simulator so you can play with like minded players around the world. Interested in joining? Just join our Path to Glory Discord Server.

The Basics

Each player taking part can choose whichever faction they wish and build an army consisting of 1,000 points.

There will be 9 campaign rounds of 2 weeks in which players can fight as many battles as they like against any opponents they like. However, only the first two aftermath sequences will apply for their army.

After the two weeks, the campaign moves into the next round, and each players lists expand ls by an additional 250 points. Players are free to remove and add units to make their list up to the new points total, but any renown and benefits learnt by units that are removed are lost forever.

Glory points are a thing of the past and of no consequence in this campaign. Only the experience system and quests part of the aftermath sequence will be used.

A new feature will be added for players called Ambitions. Players will be able to select two Ambitions each round to try and achieve. Ambitions are worth a number of points depending on how difficult they are to achieve. At the end of the campaign, the player with the most Ambition points wins!

For those wanting a little bit more of a challenge, we’ll also have Challenge mode. Here, you’ll select your starting list as normal, but at the end of the round, the units will be chosen at random from your chosen faction to make your list up to the new points total.

Ambitions

The whole campaign will revolve around Ambitions (think of achievements or Trophies on Xbox or PlayStation). Each round, players will declare which two ambitions they would like to achieve, they can fight as many battles as they like in that two weeks to try and achieve them. But remember,  only the first two aftermath sequences will apply to your roster.

Not able to play the games that round? That’s fine. You won’t gain any ambitions, but you will still be able to roll up two aftermath sequences so you don’t get left behind.

1 point Ambitions

  • Overcome: Win a major victory (by 5 or more victory points)
  • Sever the Head: Slay the enemy Warlord
  • Shield Wall: have your Warlord survive and all friendly units not destroyed within your own territory.

2 point Ambitions

  • Well Fought: Win a minor victory (with less than 5 victory point difference)
  • Manifest Mayhem: Complete a battle with three of more friendly manifestations on the battlefield.
  • Invade: Have your Warlord survive and all friendly units wholly within the opponents territory.
  • Conquer Lands: Control all 4 battlefield quarters at the end of the battle (a unit must be wholly within a battlefield quarter to hold it).
  • Seize Vantage Points: Control every piece of terrain at the end of the battle.

3 Point Ambitions

  • Total Domination: Complete a battle with no enemy units remaining on the battlefield.
  • Steel Defense: Complete a battle without having lost a single friendly unit.

4 Point Ambition

  • At the end of the battle, have no enemy units on the table and have no friendly units destroyed.
