I’m addition to our Hobby Golf for 2023, we’re also running a Hobby Bingo card this year. Slightly different to the Games Workshop one, as it does not specify any games systems, releasing you from the GW only theme.
And, for those interested. If you join our friendly Discord server and post your finished pictures inside the #hobbybingo channel I will update your Hobby card personally with your pictures.
Hopefully with our WoePoints and also other sites like Pile of Potential we’ll all be battling against the pile of grey in 2023.
Keep thinking of tackling that hobby backlog? Then why not join in with Woehammer and take part in WoePoints this year.
As a form of hobby golf, you’ll get negative points for every model you paint or sell and positive points for those that you buy.
Each month we’ll highlight some of the models that have been painted in an article run-down.
How do you score points? All the points are listed below:
-1 for each infantry model painted or sold on base sizes up to and including 40mm.
-1 for each completed unit
-2 for each infantry model painted or sold on base sizes larger than 40mm.
-2 for each cavalry model painted or sold
-2 for character models painted or sold
-5 for each terrain piece painted or sold
-5 for each vehicle or monster painted or sold
-10 for each lord of war/God model painted or sold
You get positive points of the same value for each model of the type specified above that your bought. E.g. if you buy 10 infantry models on 32mm bases you will get +10 points.
As well as these points, you’ll also get +5 points for any pre-orders you make.
REMEMBER only purchases or models you have painted or sold in 2023 count towards your points. So painting your backlog counts as free points!
Any prizes?
No, this is just for fun and intended to help you reduce your pile of potential.
How do I record my points?
Good news! You can do that on our friendly Discord server. Just drop an pictures into the #WoePoints-2023 channel and a mod will update your points. You’ll then be able to check your pointd by typing !points.
It’s as simple as that!
Massive thank you to Ben Bailey of Dice and Ducks and GW fame for building our WoeBot to keep track of the points!
WoePoints are intended to be a fun and free point system to keep track of you backlog and to stop it getting out of control.
Scoring is carried out similar to Golf, with a lower score being better.
You lose points for each model you paint or sell, and gain them for purchasing more.
How is it Tracked?
You can either keep score yourself or join our friendly Discord server and use our WoeBot to keep track.
Special thanks to Ben Bailey from Dice and Ducks for building WoeBot! Check out Dice and Ducks when you next can, they bring you live battle reports on YouTube from wargaming events around the UK.
The WoeBot in action
What are the Points?
Below is a list of all the Points you can earn. There are no prizes for this, and it is purely intended to be just a fun new feature for anyone who paints miniatures.
Points are stackable.
i.e. I paint 10 Intercessors and get -10 for painting 10 models then -2 for painting 2 units. I then sell them on ebay and get an additional -10 points. Bringing the total points for those Intercessors to -22 Points.
What’s Next?
They’ll be more functionality added to WoeBot in the coming months including:
Searching our website for faction/subfaction lists and returning you a list of articles they appear in.
I thought some may be interested in seeing my completed army to date. All of this has been painted in the first four months of 2022 apart from the Gutippaz which were finished in December.
Peter: Dave’s made a rather sinister looking chariot for his Slaves to Darkness. I love the snow bases Dave goes for with pops of static grass and flowers. The colour scheme is great and I can’t wait to see Dave’s army in the flesh.

Peter:I said you’d been busy last month when you had finished three units, now you’ve gone and smashed that with 9 units this month! That’s an incredible pace and great quality to go with it. It was a shame I never got to use the Kruleboyz you painted up at Burning Skies. The Genestealer pose always makes me think he’s replicating the smart GIF, love it!
You’ve also managed to paint the great pile of horsemeat Kragnos up as well in the same month, that’s a massive boxed ticked for th e Bingo card. Well done, he looks great! I especially love the bronze metal.

This brings Declan to 120 points and 11 at Expert Level.
Peter: Rhys has been cracking on with his flesh-eater courts this month, and don’t they look great! That Ghoul is painted up to an expert standard and considering Rhys has only been painting for a couple of years its incredible, he’s like a miniature painter who’s been painting for 40!
Ryan
Peter:Ryan has been playing around with LED’s in his scenery this month and I think this only adds to what is already a superbly finished piece.
Peter: Steve has been busy once more, tying to get his Crimson Fists company completed. I absolutely love the Space Marine Ancient who is a copy of the space Marine holding an Ork head on the cover of Rogue Trader. Steve, like Declan can power through a pile of models in no time. I’d love to know what both of their back logs look like.
Tony
Peter:Tony has finished of the Crimson Court, and they really look the part in that scenery, the skin just screams vampire and the red armour contrasts nicely!
He’s also done some non- metallic gold on his Steelheart’s Champions for underworlds. Look at that sword!
Peter:Will has done a fantastic job of these OBR. I always like Red and cream as a combo and they are set off nicely by their red earth basing. They’ll look great en masse in an army. Will has also started some “Wet Elves”, I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of the unit.
Watching Dave from Scent of a Gamer power through his Cursed City collection recently has given me the impetus to start mine.
So I chose to start with some of the larger models in the set…
Bill and Ted
Just need to finish the rims on the bases as I stupidly did those before flocking and now they’re incredibly dusty. The basing material is Geek Gaming Scenics Scrubland.
